I loved the free massage that was offered, i felt bad that I didn't have enough money with me to tip the lady as i was about to check out, so please if you are about to book this place and go to the massage have some cash with you to tip her.

The staff are so lovely & very helpful - I left some clothes at the hostel & they helped me arrange for them to be collected, so appreciative for this! Lovely hostel, could easily have stayed for much longer!

Very clean, cool pool, relaxed environment and loved all the activities they offer l. I enjoyed the movie night :)

I extended my stay because I loved here so much! An amazing hostel and could have easily stayed longer!

I really enjoyed my stay at Gypsy Lust Ubud. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of them, which was very convenient. Guests receive free massages every other day and free breakfast each morning, which was a lovely touch. The beds were comfortable, and each guest had two lockers, which was great. The hostel is also in a great location, close to the centre of Ubud, with lots of cafés and restaurants right on the doorstep.

Great hostel for solo travelers

Solo female travel. The property is beautiful, clean, organised and the staff it’s friendly, very well communicated and helpful. The location is between the Main Street and the monkey forest so very well located.

Proximity and the mgmt was helpful to book me a taxi. Also they organize free yoga classes.

Overall my stay was amazing and I was sad to leave.

This is one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Everything about it was great. It was clean, comfortable, the staff were lovely. It’s also in a great location. It was my first time solo travelling and I felt really safe and welcome at this accommodation. I will 100% stay here again.

The only thing that might annoy some people is next door there is live music until around 11pm but I didn’t have any issue with the noise. And I’m also coeliac so if there were more options for breakfast for gluten free people that would also be nice.

Comfortable, quiet stay

I stayed in the mixed room where you have some more space to put your stuff next to the bed, and I like how they have a small locker next to the light in every bed. The main locker is huge and you can put a 25 inch suitcase in. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. I love that they have drying area so you can hand wash your clothes and put them to dry. Laundry service is also available, which is very convenient. AC is always strong! And there’s free massage 😌

The sink is right outside of the door which can be a bit awkward when someone’s coming in and out of the room. The breakfast time starts at 7:30 which is a bit late if you want to go out earlier.

Great Value for Money

The stay was definitely worth the price. The staff are very friendly, and breakfast is included, which adds great value. The location is very convenient—right in the heart of Ubud city. There’s a bar opposite the hotel, but once you close the door, you can’t hear any noise at all. Highly recommended for a comfortable and budget-friendly stay.

Lovely hostel, friendly staff

Really great hostel, comfy beds with space beside to put your things. Big locker that can fit big backpack. One of our favourite things was the changing area inside the dorm room, which was a first for us and so useful! The staff was very friendly, free yoga and massages (on certain days) were great. Breakfast was decent enough.

Drinking water provided but not cold, not a major issue. The music got very annoying after a few days. When relaxing by the pool you can hear music from the hostel and separate music from the bar area. Also heard the same oasis songs day in day out! Another minor problem was the noise of the dorm doors. The big tapestry on the back of the door was quite loud when people were coming in and out. Toilets and showers weren’t the best, sticky locks and small cubicles.

Lovely chill hostel

Nice hostel, big pool, spacious rooms & beds, lovely staff, I was working remotely from the common area and the wifi was good. A few other people did so as well!

Didn’t love the bathrooms on the first floor but it was okay

Social hostel, great pool and location

Social hostel in a great location with a fabulous pool. Capsule beds were spacious and very comfortable.. Staff were kind, friendly and helpful. Free yoga and massages were great. Great restaurants and nightlife on the doorstep. Lots of activities available. Loved my stay, thank you.

Downstairs showers weren't always cleaned properly. Breakfast could have been improved on. Lockers in downstairs dorm need replacing asap as they are not at all secure. I was worried the whole time about my valuables.

Very clean and spacious pod, could fit bag inside or there was also lockers provided. I liked that there was a safe box inside pod. Staff were super helpful & breakfast was an added bonus for very reasonable price! Didn’t use pool so can’t comment on that!

I found it a bit hard on the social side. It’s not a very big hostel and there’s not a lot of common space when the weather’s not good.

Best hostel I’ve stayed

I like everything about this hostel, it feels hotel conform to me . Rooms are new and clean. There are big lockers inside and there are spaces near your bed to put your staff.Bathrooms are always clean. There is a big terrace in 2nd floor it is best to seat and chill. Pool is in a good size. Stuff are just amazing. They are always very helpful and friendly. The receptionist even lended his sweatshirt to me while I was going to Mt Batur Trekking. It was so generous and saved my life in trekking. Thank you again :)

Super clean!! Amazing pool too and lovely staff. Was having a really hard time trying to find a good hostel that wasn’t overpriced, this place was such a blessing!! Showers had the best pressure ever, breakfast was delicious, spacious dorm and was able to book the Mount Batur hike through the lovely staff super easily!

Nothing to say, absolutely loved my stay and even ended up extending for another 3 nights:) there was a bit of construction work noise in the afternoons but was okay with earphones on and at least it wasn’t in the early morning hours!

Perfect

Great hostel! It's located on a more quiet street with some shops and restaurants. The room is so clean and the personal space in the bed is very well-sized. Breakfast is included and has different options. Staff speak English and they are so nice and so helpful. The toilets and showers are not located in the room, but just next to it. I stayed here, then left, then came back, then extended my stay... by the end, the staff felt like friends to me. They are great people and I will miss them!!! I will try to come back!

The lockers maybe could improve, but it wasn't a big problem for me.

Lovely stay in great area of Ubud

Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, hot showers, a nice sense of privacy with the curtains, comfy beds, assigned safe + locker are spacious. I would stay here again and I will recommend to my friends!

Unfortunately, I agree with the other reviewer that it would be great if the staff could be supported by management to improve their English. Mosquitoes in the bathroom/shower since it's open-air; it could be nice to use some incense to repel the mosquitoes from these areas. The dog that growls at everyone including guests is a little annoying.

Amazing stay, feels like a hotel but for the price of a hostel !

This place was honestly the best hostel I‘ve been so far. Those little nooks are almost like you have your own private room. The bathroom facilities were clean and very nice. A decent breakfast and amazing pool are included in the price. But the absolut best is the central but quiet location and the super friendly and helpful staff which helped me out at several occasions and even gave me a ride to my next destination! Thank you so much for this amazing stay 😍

Exceptional

I love how quiet and relaxing the place is. Excellent for people that wish to slow down for a moment. At the same time the property is located a quick walk from the vibrant and busy streets allowing the guests to enjoy the best of both worlds. Great facilities, the beds are spacious and comfortable. I stayed for a week (which is the longest I have ever stayed in one place while traveling) and it felt like home :)

The breakfasts are tasty although quite small. . The staff is extremely polite and kind, however I believe the overall atmosphere would benefit a lot if the employees were able to communicate better in English.
