Very authentic relaxed stay with amazing staff

Wonderful!

A fabulous, tranquil hotel, very conveniently located just outside the bustle of Ubud. Beautiful grounds, large and character-filled rooms, and a 20 min walk to Ubud proper through the monkey forest. Easy to use grab to get around, and lots of nice restaurants within walking distance. A terrific, tranquil base to explore the surrounding area.

Our room was beautiful and spacious, with an especially big bathroom. The bed was super comfy, and the aircon worked really well to keep the room comfortable. Our room was surrounded by rice fields and so much nature. It felt like a little sanctuary.

The location is excellent and the overall value for money is reasonable

More attention to detail is needed in relation cleaning on a daily basis. The linen including towels needs to be replaced as old and graying.

Gorgeous. Want to return.

Absolutely gorgeous. Cool comfy rooms. Beautiful pool. Nice large outdoor shower. Free shuttle. Grab rides are also plentiful.

The mosquito net was kind of hanging down in the way. We did not need the net since they burn coils outside the front door at night. So a hook on the wall would be nice to hold the net out of the way when you are sleeping.

Perfect location with beautiful staff

Amazing staff, very friendly & accommodating. They all went above & beyond. Beautiful views & a short walk to shops & the centre of Ubud.

Nothing major, the kitchen in the villa needed a bit of a clean & few more bits & pieces to make it usable but of course the staff were happy to arrange this for us.

A true gem in Ubud - we loved it

Alam Jiwa is a stunning oasis, surrounded by lush greenery and with staff who go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. The 2 bed villa was absolutely gorgeous. It’s a very tranquil, luxurious and special spot in ubud.

Fantastic location and tranquility but expect a bit of a rustic feeling.

True Balinese feeling and close to nature. Staff always with a smile and willing to help when asked. The pool was also amazing and so relaxing to play with kids without having a big crowd sharing the pool.

Due to heavy rain for part of our stay the roof was leaking and soaked the sun beds inside the house. Had to pull out everything to dry but still the smell and dumbness was there for the rest of our stay. Again this place is as close to nature and you can get in Ubud.

Great location and truly wonderful staff who couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect.

Tranquil and beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. Plenty of good restaurants within a 10 minute walk and the centre about a 20 minute walk. Our room was an entire bungalow with huge terrace where we breakfasted each morning. It felt very special.

One of the best in Ubud, given the price

Amazing place close to nature. If you want to feel like living in a village while still be close to cafes and shops, you have to stay here. River right behind the room. Birds chirping. Lots fo greenery. And on a lucky day, you can see the volcano in the far distance. They have shuttle to the central area. Very friendly staff, greeting you with a smile. Nice breakfast, can also serve to the room.

Excellent breakfast and amazing staff at this complex with traditional character

Quiet location but a cheap taxi (grab) or 20 min walk to main centre. The spacious room and balcony was exceptional. The traditional buildings are wonderful.

Might have been our weather but we struggled to get towels and washed clothes dry. Pillows were a bit hard. Their bathroom towels need renewing to match the excellent ones for the pool.

Beautiful hotel, excellent staff and service

Excellent staff and service. The gardens and outdoor shower overlooking the rice fields make for a very serene environment. You can order breakfast each morning to enjoy on your private patio, and the free shuttle service to town is great! You can also request free pickup, but we just used Grab for return trips (only around 60K). Monkey Forest is within walking distance.

We organized airport pickup through the hotel and it was a horrible experience. Our assigned driver Pak Bebas went to the wrong terminal (fine, mistakes happen, but it was how he handled the aftermath that was unacceptable). Instead of coming to get us at the correct terminal, he led us on a ridiculous rabbit chase-telling to meet him at a circle K, then at the arrival pick up zone, then back at arrival hall- all while screaming at us over the phone instead of listening. We dragged our luggage all over the airport while being yelled at by this man for over an hour.

Perfect location fused with traditional Balinese charm.

We love this part of Ubud. It’s located in a quiet village just south of the Sacred Monkey Forest with several of the best restaurants and cafes in walking distance. The staff are exceptional and greet you by name every time you leave and return, and are happy to assist you with any requests right away. The rooms are integrated with nature in their indoor/outdoor design and the property itself is infused with traditional Balinese magic. Seeing fireflies during our evening swim and while enjoying the outdoor shower was a highlight of this stay.

This was our second stay here in the last three years and we would’ve appreciated if the hotel had updated their linens (new sheets, pillows, and new towels).

Brilliant place to stay and enjoy the serenity of Ubud.

The accomodation was just beautiful, very spacious in all aspects, gave that feeling of authentic/traditional Bali. Comfortable king beds, beautiful lush tropical gardens filled with birdlife and cute little plantain squirrels were funny to watch. I absolutely loved the pool area and the staff were so friendly and helpful, it was great to have a driver service to get into town. 2 nights was not enough!

Alam Jiwa is beautiful. The location was perfect, close to the monkey forest but far enough away to not have too many on your doorstep. The breakfast was amazing - you could either have this by the pool, in the reception/dining area or in your room. The staff were wonderful. There was a free car to the centre which was brilliant. The views and surroundings were gorgeous. We loved our stay!

As the rooms are surrounded by nature, you do get some bugs and animals inside. Half of our family didn’t like this but half didn’t mind it!

Pampered colonial luxury guaranteed

The staff were so lovely and discreet. The villas (we booked 2) were to die for. Set on the edge of rice fields and jungle gardens. All very colonial and relaxing. Breakfast on the private veranda was a daily feast.

Incredible place, exceptional staff, perfect location

Just loved this place! We slept so well too. The location was great for walking into town and lots of cafes and restaurants very close by. The staff make this place even more exceptional. The design of the hotel is beautiful and it’s right next to some rice fields and farm. They offer a taxi drop and pick up into town as well, nothing was any trouble. Breakfast was fantastic too, lots of choice and very yummy. We will definitely stay here again

Great privacy, stunning balcony views, excellent breakfast, and friendly staff

Great privacy, with a fantastic large balcony overlooking Ubud’s rice fields and forests. Enjoying breakfast there was an amazing experience. The breakfast itself was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly, and they even provided an extra bed for our child at no additional cost. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby.

That said, being in the tropics, encountering some insects is inevitable. Additionally, the hotel’s facilities could benefit from some updates.

You feel like God in Bali

A hidden gem, an oasis of calm in bustling Ubud. At the end of a cul-de-sac, you walk into the park-like garden of Alam Jiwa. What a paradise. A lovely swimming pool, hospitable welcome with fresh fruit juice. You are in the middle of nature; our villa (divided into two large accommodations; one downstairs and one upstairs) was very large and luxurious. Showers overlooking the rice fields, a terrace also with beautiful views over the rice fields. Every morning a delicious, huge breakfast full of fresh products and afternoon tea with cake. You feel like God in Bali here. Lots of care and attention to detail; fresh flowers everywhere, fresh fruit, offering bowls. Highly recommended!

Perfect place for a retreat

It’s a paradise, quiet and full of vegetation each room has a private garden and the staff is always ready to help!! Waking up and opening the curtains you have a luxurious private garden waiting for you refresh yourself in the open shower you will delight yourself with the tasty breakfast served at the time you have chosen and delivered to your room balcony. They also have a bath tube in the open-air bathroom, which I have been tempted to use but since there is a lack of water in Bali, I have resisted. I have from Westin, which was my first booking, because of the noisy customers of the hotel that would kill the vibe of my days in Ubud. Here somehow the guest respect the surroundings and allow everybody to enjoy the relaxed environment of the swimming pool even not that big is more than enough, unless you are training for the Olympics :) Try the cooking workshop in the related restaurant, was so good and you learn how to do some Balinese dishes, they are easy to prepare

Absolutely exceptional

Our stay at Alam Jiwa was one of the best we’ve ever had. The rooms were pristine and extremely comfortable, surrounded by stunningly beautiful nature. It is perfectly located away from the madness of central Ubud, while still being very walkable, though there are also some fantastic eating spots nearby. However, it was the team at Alam Jiwa who really made our stay so unforgettable - from the huge, family-like welcome to the 2am volcano trek breakfast boxes, nothing was ever too great an ask for them. We couldn’t recommend Alam Jiwa (and its employees) enough.

Wonderful hotel

The environment is very beautiful and quiet. The room is comfortable and the furnitures are high quality. The swimming pool is wide and the garden is pretty and abundant. The best of it is the staff are nice and helpful. Even the hotel is not in the center but they have free shutter bus for the guest. And also have reataurants and massage shop near the hotel. We will go back again!

The facilities of the bathroom are a little bit old and doesn't work functionly. And the kitchen supplies are not enough and prepared.
