Great stay in a nice calm part of Ubud.

Flamboyant Villa is a small accomodation in the center of an authentic part of Ubud. Located in a back street, so no cars around and just a 20 minute walk to the city center through a calm street. I stayed in one of the studio's with a small kitchen. The studio and bathroom was super spacious, a comfortable bed, thick towels and quiet air conditioning. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I've stayed over 2 weeks for a yoga training nearby and Cuming & Wayan (hopefully spelled correctly), asked regularly how things were going, very friendly and great hospitality. The pool was great size, deep and perfect for a swim. It is a small hotel, only 10 rooms, perfect to meet other travelers. Would definitely return.

The shower and bathroom were cleaned daily, it could however use a deep clean to remove the limescale stains on the glass walls.

We really enjoyed our stay! The pool was very clean, and the staff were understanding and accommodating when we lost our keys. We also loved the bathtub and how easy it was to navigate around the villa. The toilet even had a bidet function with a button, which was a nice touch!

However, a few things could be improved — the plants around the bathtub were dried and dead, the bathtub had some scum that needed more cleaning, and one of the sliding doors on the right side of the bed wasn’t functioning properly.

Perfect and would recommend and certainly return.

Loved the location. Beautiful garden, peaceful, relaxing. Cold pool - so very refreshing after a hot day out- doesn’t get a whole lot of sun- but that was fine for us.

When we first checked in there was a musty smell in the room. We had a large room so had 2 heat pumps running, after the 1st night one was turned off, after this the musty smell went away and was perfect. I think the other heat pump needs to be replaced - As this is where the smell was coming from.

The place as stunning as shown in pics! It was more lush though, filled with plants on the outside. The place is somewhat hidden so I’d recommend you to arrive during the daylight. The location isn’t as good as it could be but it served as a little hideaway to come back after a busy day around! Last but not least the staff was very kind! They even got our clothes washed in 24h for a small fee.

The basic room could be enhanced: there was a big empty space to fill - not a single plant or decorative motif inside. The room felt quite plain - not cozy. I bet the other-more luxurious rooms would have been a better choice. The towel drier was almost fallen off the wall (room 02) There was so much noise during the day because of construction around (not the place’s fault), also weren’t much there during the day - but breakfast was quite noisy, where it supposed to be a relaxing oasis.

Beautiful oasis in Ubud

Room felt private. Simple room but had everything you would need. Facilities and pool were lovely. Super lush, beautiful trees and flowers surrounding you. Location was perfectly tucked away. So it was quiet and peaceful at nighttime. Easy to walk to a cafe and restaurants around the corner or down the road and easy enough to catch a grab into town.

Bed was slightly too firm for my liking, but pillows were comfy!

Nice place to explore Ubud and surrounding areas

The location is very nice, 10min by bike from the center and major tourist attractions. The property itself is very pretty with lots of plants. It‘s private and enclosed from the road. The staff was very nice and attentive.

The windows don‘t fully close which makes the room not 100% mosquito-proof (there are mosquito nets though). When it rainey heavily, some water leaked into our room from the roof. We did report this to the staff when checking out, though, and they told us they would take care of it.

Best stay in Ubud!

This place was our favorite stay in Ubud. The room with a bath is incredibly nice. We didn't want to leave. It is quiet, clean, spacious, and their breakfast is unreal! The staff are extremely kind. The beds are very comfortable and the water was nice and hot for a beautiful tub out in nature amongst greenery. We can't wait to come back. The value for your money is beyond any place I've stayed at after spending many vacations in Bali especially in Ubud.

Reliably quiet and relaxing villas. I can walk to cafes, yoga/pilates classes & monkey forest.

Delicious nutritious breakfast. Could not fault. Coffee is very strong Balinese style. This is my 4th stay at The Famboyant, the owner upgraded me to upper level villa - a larger room, 4 poster bed, private terrace and day bed. Wish I could stay for longer. For me the peace and quiet is perfect. Guests are welcome who are respectful of this quiet harmony.

Air Conditioner in my villa # 204 upstairs, not powerful enough to cool room to my needs.

There are places where you feel like a guest and places where you feel like a family member. Unbelievably welcoming and a great place. We felt like a family member. Much appreciate all the effort that they put into making you feel at home. I would highly recommend this place. I hope I will have a chance to visit again :)

Amazing staff, they are extremely polite and friendly and would do anything to help you. The location is great, away from the traffic and perfect to reach the center and all other areas around. The vibe in the garden where there is the pool is magic.

There is an open window in the bathroom so there are ants and insects were entering but the staff helped us to resolve the problem.

Beautiful hidden oasis

A little paradise tucked away!! Perfect if you want to be close to the centre but not in it as it's really hectic! Super quiet. Lots of great restaurants 5 min walk away. Short walk to monkey forest and you can even take "monkey forest shortcut" if you want to walk to the centre. You don't have to pay as it's not in monkey forest, it's around the outside. Staff super friendly and love that you can have breakfast just outside your room/ on balcony.

Nothing. I read some kind of bad reviews saying the ground floor properties were damp and had a bad smell and other things but we were on the ground floor and they had put a dehumidifier in there as well as air con. We kept the bathroom door closed and just let the moisture/steam escape through the small top windows. I also read that some people said they didn't serve fruit at breakfast. That IS an option now. So it looks like they take on board any comments those who stay have. A fantastic place and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Pleasant

Oasis of calm bar the cockerel in the morning. Friendly and helpful staff. Compact pool but sufficient for our needs. The Junior suite was very spacious and the kitchen/dining area suitable for 4 people to seat around and have take away dinners. Nice balcony. Didn't use the cooking facilities so can't comment on those. Bedrooms on the 1st floor are spacious. Good pressure in the shower and comfy beds. Plenty of nice restaurants and cafes nearby. Convenient to walk to town but beware of the motorcycles on the path. Breakfast nice fresh juices and fresh fruits. Happy to organise days out with a driver. Very helpful when we struggled to book a food delivery.

The bedrooms on the ground floor could do with a lick of paint. There is also a damp smell and we could not use the wardrobe because of this. Breakfast:The pancakes were very thick, no choice of teas or just toasts. Given the fact that there is a nice bakery just up the road maybe there should be an option for bakery items. We ended up not having breakfast at the property. No shuttle service to town. Would need a taxi to go to Ubud in the evenings as the path is not lit up.

Very good

very nice location, quiet and relaxing, yet close to restaurants and amenities. I do recommend renting a bike though to really enjoy the stay in the area. Spacious room with large terrace and comfy bed. Reliable wi-fi. Staff is very friendly and kind. We had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Ubud.

This is not a complaint, but rather a suggestion. Breakfast was lovely, would have just liked to have a change in the kind of fruits instead of the same combo every day, maybe every other day swap the pineapple/watermelon/papaya combo for banana, dragon fruit and mango or whatever else is easy to get in Bali. And maybe leave the breakfast papers in the room for guests to fill, that way staff can pick-up the breakfast order for the next day when cleaning the room. Alternatively, you can give the paper to guests during breakfast so they can fill-in before they leave the breakfast table. This way your staff doesn't have to chase people everyday 😁

Amazing stay with small downsides

I loved everything about the property. Lots of light, huge balcony, great bathroom. The breakfast was nice as well.

The only downside is the bed which is super hard (it took us a few days to get used to it but the first few nights were horrible), and the Wi-Fi was not that great in the last 5 days of our stay.

Beautiful quiet place and great value for money

The location was perfect for me, close to the yoga centre in a quiet part of Ubud. The gardens were beautiful and it felt private and peaceful

The bed was a little too hard for me. A little more attention to detail when cleaning is needed.
