Sapodilla Ubud

The rooms are large and immaculate. The staff are excellent. The free shuttle service was extremely helpful and much appreciated. The afternoon tea every day is fun because it’s different every day and you get to try new foods. The breakfast was the best, colourful, fresh and delicious. The juice is 100 percent squeezed, and nothing else.

My mom and I had a wonderful week-long stay at Sapodilla. The staff were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive. They would bring us fresh pool towels and ice water while we relaxed by the pool, and it was so convenient being able to message them on WhatsApp whenever we had a question or needed anything. We made great use of the complimentary shuttle service to visit local attractions, although we were able to walk to most places. Sapodilla is conveniently located within easy walking distance of plenty of restaurants, shops, and a grocery store for snacks and essentials. The breakfast menu offered lots of variety and accommodated different dietary needs. As a vegan, I especially loved the smoothie bowls and avocado toast, and the portions were very generous. We also looked forward to the complimentary afternoon tea each day, which included coffee or tea along with cakes and snacks. Our room was very comfortable, with a cozy bed, soft linens, and excellent air conditioning. There was also a desk, which would be great for anyone needing to work during their stay. We were welcomed with a personalized note from the staff, which was a lovely touch. Sapodilla also rents scooters, though we found we didn’t need one during our visit. One of the highlights of our stay was the cooking class—we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return the next time we’re in Ubud.

A couple of things to note: the restaurant is currently under construction, so meals are delivered to your room. There is also construction taking place next door. The daytime noise never really bothered us, but if you enjoy taking afternoon naps, it’s something to be aware of. Even with the nearby construction, the evenings were peaceful and quiet, and we slept very well.

This is no fault of the hotel. There is a lot of building work in the local area, which generated quite a lot of daytime noise.

The pool is the best part of the stay, beautiful & clean just as in the pictures. There are not a lot of guests in this hotel so normally you get to enjoy the pool all by yourself.

The room and service is overrated. The water in the room bathtub and shower is literally black and water is very small, not possible to have a shower. I reported to the hotel staff and received no follow up. I was surprised that breakfast is not included, I wasn’t aware until been asked to pay at the end of my breakfast. It was 100k each, at which price you can have better food choices and experience elsewhere. Honestly it’s not worth it- the service is so slow, we waited like an hour to get everything from the set meal, the girl didn’t give us folks until asked to, and didn’t give us the coffee and tea in the set meal until asked too (which literally is just pouring from the pot and takes 30 seconds) .
