Loved the quirkiness of staying on a boat. Every single member of staff was delightful and their friendliness and kindness were from the heart. Everyone I encountered couldn't do enough for me and treated me as an individual. There was a high standard of cleanliness and security. I appreciated the safe in my cabin. My bunk was small, of course, but very comfortable and the linen was nice. A lovely man prepared a sandwich for me to take away on my final morning because I had an early train. Another lovely man carried my baggage up the steps to Baumwall U - and another helped me with my phone service. Great location in view of Elbphilharmonie and easy walking distance of centre. U Bahn was moments away and on same line U3 as Hbf. Perfect.
Nothing. But be warned: the single cabin w shower room is small so small people will be happiest in it. I had too much luggage! My fault but I was on a long journey.

Great location on the harbour between the Elbphilhamonie and the Reeperbahn. Good food. Great breakfast.
You sacrifice some luxury for nautical charm; the cabin was a little cramped. Climbing in and out of the bunk beds wouldn't be for everybody.

It was a very enjoyable experience. When back in Hamburg, I will definitely stay there again.

The location and it was fun experience to stay in a boat hotel. I liked the breakfast (juice, coffee, boiled egg, some fruits, cheese and bread).
I’m quite short so I was fine with the small single bed. If your height is over 170 cm you may not find the bed comfortable.

Great experience. Unique and with a sense of history. Barman was first class. All staff were friendly, helpful and happy to chat.
Not the best night's sleep in the bunk but still glad I stayed. Bit worn in places but mostly just adds to the charm / experience.

Amazing location for the Elbphilharmonie and for exploring the harbour. Friendly staff. Room was more spacious than I expected. All very clean and charming. Single bed was small but comfortable. Breakfast was nice but nothing super exciting : bread rolls, ham, cheese, boiled egg, orange juice and a little salad. Having read some other reviews I was worried the room might be too warm but it was about right (although it was November!!!). Great shower water pressure. They let me leave my bag after I checked out and come back for it later.
The room was a little bit noisy including a repetitive high pitched beeping sound (like from a distant smoke alarm that needs a battery replacing or something) but I slightly expected some noises due to the location. I used the earplugs they provided (nice touch) and listened to a podcast and then I couldn't hear the noises and I slept very well.

The breakfasts were OK
Very noisy at night. The cabin (no 6) was very cramped. The bathroom was extremely basic. There was nowhere to sit in the evening. There was a lack of basic amenities and no TV available.. The boat was 72 years old and looked it's age.

Unique experience staying on a converted ship that is loaded with charm. Staff were super friendly. Location is very good for exploring by foot. Breakfast set in nice.
Waking up to see the water through the porthole is very cool.
Single room very small which was OK for me, but a tall person would struggle to fit in the built in bed. Shower also very small, but still OK.
Biggest issue is the noise when they have live music - it conducts through the steel hull of the ship so there is no way to minimise it. Even with ear plus and a noise cancelling headset you could still feel the beat. But they don't have music every night.

The room was a cool experience, as was the location in general, good breakfast and the crew is very nice and happy to help you out.
It was very warm down in the cabin, but they had already put a fan in so it was okay. Definitely worth it!

This is a quirky, very unusual hotel in a great location. My room was a ship's cabin and I felt like an Edwardian explorer, about to begin a voyage. The ship also has a very good bar and restaurant that serves delicious food. If you find bland chain hotels depressing, this is the perfect antidote!
During the day, there is a lot of noise from the restaurant, so if you like to have a 'siesta', use the supplied earplugs!. Fortunately, it is very quiet at night. The bunk beds are surprisingly comfortable, but they are very high off the ground and you need to be reasonably fit to climb on and off. They would be no good if you are quite overweight and have mobility problems. The rooms are small and in the tiny bathroom, there are many opportunities to bang your head!
I enjoyed the unusual setting, but I wouldn't recommend it for more than a couple of nights.

I enjoyed every part of my stay at Das Feuerschiff. Staff was exceptional and the room was amazing and better than I expected. Such a neat experience to stay here and being right in the harbour you are close to everything. Good transport links to the rest of the area. I loved all the noise of the harbour and the ships going by. Coming from the Isle of Wight where boating is an essential part of our life, I felt right at home on this boat. I would highly recommend Das Feuerschiff to anyone looking for a neat experience while visiting Hamburg.
Das Feuerschiff is an historic boat and not designed for 6'5" people like myself. The bed in my room was small, but I expected this, as I spend a lot of time on boats of all sizes. For anyone who is not used to boats or small quarters and is as large a person as myself then you might want to look elsewhere. If you can get by this small thing, then I would say you will have a great time onboard with the amazing location and staff.

Laundromate in machine room made a ‘finished’-signal at 3.30 in the morning. It continued until next day, when I personally went down there to switch it off. In general the place is noisy.

Fantastic! But remember it is an old ship not a modern 5⭐️ Hotel, so expectations and reviews must be adjusted accordingly. Narrow bunks and lacking AC is just part of the charm. Staff, food and service is top noch!
Airconditioning would be good on a hot summer night, but then it would not feel like an authentic antiquated old ship.

Close to Miniatur Wunderland, easily accessible and close to Hamburg U-bahn. Shower was warm and the heating worked very well (it was cold and raining outside but very cosy inside). Breakfast was very tasty and even offered as a buffet on Sunday. Free wifi aboard as well.
Well, it’s a ship, so beds are pretty short (max 1m80) and the rooms are tiny. As it’s a boat, the noise isolation is not what a usual hotel offers so earplugs are a must if you want to sleep properly. They offer these btw... there was also a little humidity smell in the room, but quickly solved by opening the door for a few moments.

Sollte man(frau)erleben. Nicht für Rollstuhl geeignet. Sonst große Klasse. Die Mitarbeiter höflich, freundlich und aufmerksam.
War eine positive Erfahrung.
Keine Kegelbahn!!!!!🤣🤷♂️
