Everything was perfect, thank you! From the gorgeous family suite, very welcoming and cosy feel of the hotel, delicious food at dinner/ breakfast and exceptional customer service throughout from all staff. We loved our stay at Cary Arms and will definitely be back again soon.

Staff were all very friendly and cheerful and that made our stay fantastic.

The bathtub is very pretty, but not practical if you just want a shower, without wetting the whole floor. Good to have both shower and bathtub. The old antique skeleton key is very unique, but not easy to insert it right and lock the door. Also, it would be nice to have a power socket for the hairdryer in the bathroom, the only one I could find was at the bedside table, which is not very practical.

Wonderfull stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to be offered a seaside cottage instead of a double room, free of charge. The decor, minibar, and cleanliness of the cottage were impeccable! Friendly staff!!!

Simply delightful

Delicious breakfast which we had in the conservatory with beautiful view of the cliffs, beach. Fish and chips on the dinner menu is just beautiful. Location of the property is on the hill side so there are beautiful views. We stayed in the pebble cottage which has a very cute terrace of its own. The staff, especially Brad, were extremely welcoming and helpful which made our stay truly enjoyable.

The only thing that can be possibly improved is that the living room furniture in the cottage is a little dated- which is a very minor issue. Also, if you are not used to driving on steep roads, the approach to the place can be quite tricky but once there, the hotel takes care of parking your vehicle and giving you lift to and from the parking so that too is not an issue.

A wonderful retreat in a beautiful location!

Such a wonderful find! A perfect place for us to relax in a beautiful location with great views. The hotel felt private and quaint, with little luxuries to make our stay feel special. All the staff were fantastic, warm and welcoming. The Spa was a great bonus to enjoy too.

The shower in our room was within the bath and too short for my husband to stand under. Some furniture needed a little TLC.

One of the best situated hotels I have ever stayed.

The breakfast was good as was the evening meal. Disappointed not to get fresh fruit at breakfast. The ambience of the hotel is exceptional.

We had a bath in our room not a shower which I didn’t notice when I booked the room.

Beautiful cottage with fantastic views

We stayed in Rose Cottage, a beautiful thatched building with plenty of space. Fantastic bbq area with views over the sea. Welcome package went above and beyond with milk, bread, cereal and even sweet and savoury snacks. Also love that it was dog friendly

There is no downstairs toilet which was difficult for my elderly father. Also it wasn’t clear in the advertisement that there were a lot of very steep steps outside. Not ideal for the old or those with mobility issues

Pocket of luxury by the sea and priced as such

Friendly staff, good facilities the spa and gym was good. Views of the beach and coast is fantastic. We had a quaint room with a lovely sea view! Valet parking is a great option because they take care of the hassle for you.

Despite everything, it was still on the expensive side for the room- it was a tad small and think you’re paying for the views more than anything. Also a bit of a shame they don’t offer room service. Parking can be hectic but they’re doing their absolute best.

A Hidden Gem

What can i say - its a hidden gem - beautiful location the view of the bay from our balcony was breath taking, beautiful premises the decoration and colour scheme, lovely staff and a fab restaurant our evening meal was faultless. Everthing you could want for a short break , spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and on site parking.

Worth every penny!

Absolutely everything! From the minute you arrive the staff cannot be more helpful. With the nature of the site, the rooms are all different, no Travleodge style rooms here! The restaurant is excellent, highlighted by the fact that it was pretty much full with non-residents, not that it was a problem for us to book a table. We don't typically return to the same venue twice, The Cary Arms might make us break that rule!

An amazing coastal hotel, we will return.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff cannot look after you better they are so friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The staff were also very helpful ahead of our trip. The room was nice well laid out and of a high standard. Comfortable bed and pillows. Lots of puzzles, board games and books. Very good little kitchen area with a stove and oven. Easy to prepare a basic meal there if needed. Lovey pictures in the rooms and around the hotel. Amazing views across the bay. We saw the local seals one evening. Good selection of areas to sit some only available to hotel guests which was good. Great walks along the coast. This is very much a bespoke hotel and lovely if you want have a coastal hotel of a high standard that is not part of a chain.

There were a few areas that the hotel could improve to bring it more inline with its star rating. Minor changes though. The food was a little hit and miss. Some dishing were lovely, others could be better. Tables were not cleared all weekend and most tables had empty plates and glasses. It was busy but this was a shame. The steam room and shower area in the spa needs the floor cleaning as quite dirty. A few buckets with pool water would do it but the floor is green and needs a scrub. Otherwise an amazing spa with great views. Very good massages and treatments. The turn down service could improve. The bed looked like it had been slept in when turned down and the blinds had not been drawn. Just needs a bit of training here.

A stunning location, exceptional service, and a very warm welcome, but very very steep!

The location of this hotel is truly extraordinary - we looked out from our cottage across the bay during sunshine and storms, and were absolutely blown-away by the proximity to the sea. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful - helping us with a few small issues inside the property immediately, and offering both support and assistance with cars and for my mum's mobility issues. They were always warm and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was also excellent in the restaurant, and the spa and bar with views were also fabulous!

Cooking on an Arger was challenging, as were the VERY steep hills to and from the property, but we got there in the end!

The location has amazing views, the room itself was also lovely. (The only down side was the guest lounge was below and on one night the noise of other guests was not great. The hotel staff apologised.)

The cost of some of the evening food on the expensive side, which normally I don’t mind but they made silly mistakes such as forgetting the sauce for the steak and bread for the muscles. This was however sorted once pointed out.

Great family weekend break

We had a lovely first holiday with our 4 month old baby. The hotel caters for families and our cottage was next door to the bar area where we had breakfast and dinner both nights. The staff were very friendly and the food was lovely especially the seafoood at dinner. Portions are small but declicious. They had a piano player on the Saturday so the ambience was great. We did the coastal walk to the beach one of the days and had the best Sunday roast at the Waddling Duck at the top of the hill (book early). Only negatives were the cottage was extremely warm even in March (20°C) even at nighttime, so our little one struggled to sleep, but that's personal preference. The pool area is only open for babies from 8-10am which is the same time as breakfast and there's an extra surcharge to use it so hard to fit everything in with the timings.
