Cosy and comfortable hotel in a great location.

The quiet relaxation of the room, the comfort of the bed. It was so cosy and warm in the middle of winter. The location is fab being in the centre of the quay. We'd stayed before so knew it was good, breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable in the bright morning sunny room.

Our first room had an overwhelming smell of smoke emanating from the sofa in the room. I asked to be moved and they obliged with courtesy and no problem at all. Our next room was much fresher but had a slightly stale smell that became more noticeable the longer we stayed.

Nice hotel located within easy walk to city centre and sea front. Good breakfast with nice views. Staff very helpful. Room good size with large bathroom. Comfortable bed. Gym with good and relative new equipment.

This is not a dislike, only to inform people that the property in located on a hill and it could be difficult for some walking to and from

Bedding were not as fresh as you would expect, but they were clean. Parking - You need the Ringo app for parking to get the best rates, but can only do 24 hrs each day. A bit fiddly in keep renewing parking.

Was all good in the end

The property was nice. Public areas were clean. When we checked into our ‘first’ room is wasn’t clean, windows had sticky finger marks on the glass from previous occupants, tv was dusty and just wasn’t up to standard. We also booked a Harbour view but upon opening the curtains it was a rooftop with piping everywhere and you had to stand to the left of the window and purposely look in the right hand direction to see the boats. We changed rooms to the 4th floor and the room was spotlessly clean and the view much better however please be aware you still have to look round to see the boats and you don’t get a direct view of the harbour in any room. We also saw on booking.com it says ‘coffee maker’ this appears to be a glorified way of saying kettle which as big coffee drinkers we were quite disappointed with. Overall for the cheap price we paid it was a nice stay but wouldn’t return if it was anymore expensive. The breakfast being complimentary was definitely a bonus, however it would be nice to see a few more options, such as fresh fruit and more bread selections such as sourdough. And some sort of ‘protein’ section with seeds or nuts as I noticed there isn’t really any options for vegan guests.

Too many lights in the bedroom that you couldn’t turn off over night (e.g. nightlight in the bathroom, air con). They lit the bedroom up and you couldn’t turn them off.

Location exceeded expectations and couldn't fault the cleanliness or comfort.

Breakfast was good, and well stocked each day. The location was great, with good restaurants and the harbour within an easy walk.

Hotel menu was basic and limited. We wanted to eat in one night, but decided to go out instead. Staff were polite, but not very engaging.

The room we stayed in had soft feather pillows which were so comfortable, we also liked the space in the lounge/ breakfast area, you didn’t feel you were squeezed in next to other guests, great selection at breakfast though it could have been hotter
