Stayed here for 2 days and it was great, some of the rooms are a little dated but the hotel and hotel staff are great, location is very good close to everything whether you’re looking around the town centre or want to jump in a taxi or on the bus , cannot fault this. Have stayed in a few other hotels in Torquay that maybe popular than the Caledonian, but none of them have better staff or offer a better location. Highly recommend 👍👍👏

Not a good start 3 hour drive took 8.5hours due to M5 Closure, not the hotels fault, but on arrival the reception staff member of staff was quite abrupt, Telling on couple in front of us that they could not have evening meal as they were late and the could not order packed meal to take away the next morning it was 20:30 and orders closed at 20:00hrs even though they were also delayed due to the motorway closure, our room was very tired in need of a lot of TLC and required a lot more attention from housekeeping bathroom sink plug hole and overflow disgusting, also the Stench it the room was horrific we had to leave the bathroom fan on all night to keep the smell at bay, bar staff only serving Coach Trips with vouchers due to being late barman said he should be there only had to stay on because of late arrivals. we left in the morning will not be going back.
