Bad staff, no hot water. Waiting in lines for 15 minutes for simple things.

Staff extremely slow and uninterested. The hotels key system was out of service so you had to go to the reception and wait 10 minutes for someone to help you open the door of your room. The second day there was no hot water. The staff seems uninterested solving the problems with the key system nor do they warn their customers doing their check ins.

There were 2 supermarkets in front + next to the hotel.

There was no AC adaptor and couldn't charge my smartphone. This is the worst experience I've ever had.

perfect stay to explore Rio

Stayed 10 days to teach a course at the State University & to do some site visits. The hotel was great - rooms small but comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic (my daughter is vegetarian and enjoyed it too). Nice coffee. A couple of minutes away you find a health shop with amazing Açai smoothies to sit in, supermarkets, bars, cafes, gyms. The beach and Marina (for boat tours) and old city are in walking distance. It was quiet at night. Lapa is a bit poorer than other parts in Rio (hence the cheaper price) but if you have your wits about you, it didn’t feel less safe than anywhere else we visited. Great bus connections to south or north. The staff are always keen to help and friendly.

Disappointing

The only great things was the super kind staff, a nice breakfast and the position.

Air conditioned was broken and we said to them but nothing changed. Only two people speak English. They asked us 100 rs for a 2 h earlier check-in, but by the chat they said us to come.

Good for one night, close to Sambodromo

We have chosen this hotel to be close to Sambodromo (due to Rio Carnival). Apart from this the location wasn’t very nice, however it wasn’t unsafe as there were plenty of police on the streets. It is clean. Beds are comfortable. Tasty fruits for breakfast and helpful staff. Good for one night.

Very long check-in, as receptionists are nice but not the fastest ones and seems not to care about waiting people… Breakfast (apart from fruits) is not tasty - very basic, meaty and fried. Even the coffee wasn’t very good. Hotel is old - renovation would be helpful.

Nothing, really. I just hope you pay staff well

I liked the staff, very kind and attentive. You can tell they're really trying to do their best.

However, the hotel is fair. In comparison with other hotels around the area, it is pretty awful. On the reservation page, they give you a nice and affordable option, but when you get to the place, the promotional room has no air conditioning. In summertime Rio. You have got to be kidding, you offer an option wo air conditioning. It'd be the same as going to the North Pole wo heating. This was not nice. I felt cheated of my choices. I could've gone to a much nicer place for the price of the upgrade I had to buy in order to have air conditioning. Awful tactic. It felt like a lie. Would not return

The worst experience we have ever had at a hotel.

Breakfast was nice. Some staff were nice ( but language was a barrier to resolving issues).

We did not like the sanitary conditions of the room (blood stains on bedsheets and dirty drapes touching bed),the see through drapes so no privacy- other rooms could see straight into ours, no air conditioning as advertised, repeated trouble with room keys, no remote and then old batteries placed in the remote, and then no use of TV at all for multiple hours due to intermittent signal with multiple attempts asking them to fix it.Language barrier was quite a problem so we gave up trying to get them to fix it, so we had no use of TV. Then in the morning 50 feet from hotel entrance my son was grabbed with demands for money. When we ran away from him, he followed us up to the door. Instead of seeing Rio as planned we decided to go to the airport for the rest of the day out of fear. The photos are of just the room.

The staff were excellent, especially Ingrid, she was ever so pleasant and very polite and delivered excellent service with her intoxicating smile 😃

Great place to stay in Lapa

Comfortable, clean, good value, good breakfast. Friendly staff. I would stay again. Lots of food options in the area.

Far from the beach and 1 kilometer from the nightlife. Better to take an uber around that area at late night but fine to walk around during day. Room is a bit small, but fine

Good location. Good room size, good breakfast and available staff.

We changed room immediately as the first one was not well cleaned but without problems or any long wait. The bed sheet/mattress cover was too small for the bed so it would come out during the night. Wi-Fi very slow and not working well - to avoid if you need to work.

Good hotel to stay in Lap neighborhood

The staff is amazing! so helpful and very kind! the rooms are super nice with a very big beds. The location is good if you want to be in Lapa area which is the party zone.

The breakfast was very poor and when we came they didn’t want to bring us more coffee. We didn’t have a hot water in the shower.
