TV didn't work No hot water Hotel kept trying to take payment with chip & pin but I explained I was away and asked to pay on arrival Usually money taken through Booking.com with no issues No compensation for broken TV or no hot water

The Jewel in the South of the Isle of Man

A little Gem on the island

If you want to stay in the South of the Island there is no better place to stay.

The location of this property is excellent, both in terms of being 12 mins drive to the airport but more importantly fantastic views over Gansey bay, with a lovely walk to Port St Mary. As we were there 5 days we booked room 1 which is more like a suite being a large room with a sofa and a chair, very comfortable. It also has a wood burner which looked like it would be very cosy in the winter. The bar and restaurant were always busy and buzzing and the food was good and plentiful with very large portions. The nicest thing about the venue were the staff who to a person were very chatty and friendly. Will be back. One point of information which is nothing to do with the hotel but info for fellow travellers is getting a taxi in the South of the island is a nightmare so car hire might be a good idea, or the bus does stop right outside the hotel.

The only gripe was the TV which was quite old so not a Smart TV and the signal occasionally fell out, but usually returned with a couple of seconds. Nothing else not to like.

Superb Cottage with amazing view from balcony

1. It was a lovely cottage with super view of the ocean. The house was so well equipped with necessary things . The kitchen had everything you would need when you travel like oil, tea, sugar, salt, butter, pepper. I have stayed at so many cottages and always thought why can't anyone provide these basics to cook as tourist wont carry them and this house had it all. 2. Bathrooms were very clean with body wash provided which again most cottages miss 3. Location is superb and nearby town center also 4. We checked in 1hr early as reached early and the host was very kind to give us the keys.

Very comfortable hotel with great staff. We were made very welcome.

The location is ideal for exploring the south of the island, the breakfast was excellent and the restaurant meals also. The view over the beach and coastline is wonderful.

The rooms look onto the road which is quite busy early morning with associated traffic noise

Great place with great food. Very dog friendly.

We had wonderful views over Gansey Bay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and all the facilities in our room were great including a small sofa and a spacious en suite The food was exceptional and we loved the freshly cooked breakfasts. We were travelling with our dog and they are truly dog friendly arranging tables for us in the bar whenever needed. All the staff were great - relaxed and friendly and very helpful.. We all really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer.

Home from home, we loved every minute of our stay and we were sorry to leave.

We were thoroughly delighted with the hotel in every way. Our room was amazing - triple aspect looking out over the sea. The staff were so accommodating and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them. They made such a fuss of our little dog as well which was so nice. We ate in the bar each night and the food was exceptionally good and the choice was amazing. If we ever return to the Isle of Man, we would definitely stay here again without doubt.

We knew the hotel was on a main road and in truth it was busier than we imagined. That said, the room was pretty well sound proofed.

Friendly welcoming hotel.

The welcome was warm and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It is clearly a well-loved pub and was popular and lively. We ate there every night and enjoyed the food and hospitality. The area was quiet but across from the shore and there was a lovely walk around the headland to Port St Mary. We were delighted with our stay and glad we came here.

Exceptional large rooms with sea views, very friendly staff were great in every way. Chef was exceptional, seafood dishes were to die for and generous portions. Definitely eat in the restaurant!

SUPER location, room was stunning and reliable bus service right outside

The room was lovely, with the terrace and the good weather it was fantastic. The only draw back was the rally going on Friday afternoon and evening which went we were unable to use the bar as it was jam packed. The bar was super noisy until it finished and after that it was great. The staff did an immense job running round for the bar and restaurant.
