A quiet oasis in Hallstatt

Apartments Wallner are in a great location away from the busy old town centre but close enough to easily walk to all tourist attractions and ferry or bus stop. As we didn’t have a car the close proximity to reliable transport was very important. We loved the peaceful surroundings and the view of the lake from our apartment windows. The beautifully decorated apartment is so spacious with doors separating living spaces, kitchen and rooms so would suit a family or group easily. The kitchen area included everything we needed to cook dinner each night and a nice dining table to eat at. We just chilled and felt at home when we weren’t exploring the surrounds. Hallstatt is expensive so the ability to self cater was a bonus. Monika was very approachable and clearly cares about her guests.

The friendly and helpful hosts, clean and spacious apartment and location.

There's nothing we didn't like, although it would be great to have access to a washing machine. Also, there are stairs however no lift. This wasn't a problem for us, and the hosts immediately helped carry our luggage up the stairs anyway.

Clean, comfy, well located

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was huge! Exceptionally clean, comfy beds and an amazing location 10 mins walk from Hallstatt Market place which means you’re close to the action but away from the crowds. Also only a few minutes walk to the late which has stunning views!

Lovely 2 night stay in Halstatt in autumn

Lovely clean large apartment on 1st floor (stairs - no lift) Very clean and warm Comfortable beds and linen 15 min walk through the village to the property

Note - not a negative but helpful to know .... If you are arriving by train you will have to take the boat across the lake (7 mins) to Halstatt Cost Euro 8.00 each (return) CASH ONLY

Far from ferry drop off and no AC

Within walking distance (about 20 minutes) to the ferry terminal and central area of Hallstatt. Spacious rooms.

No AC at all and it was over 30 degrees. Bugs can get into the room at night as windows had to be left open given no AC. Very far to ferry terminal with luggage especially as you had to drag it across cobblestone paths basically the entire way which was about 30 minutes instead of 20 minutes walk. No pickup service. Also we asked for checkin instructions continuously and even up to 2 hours before we arrive and no reply from host. Had to do an international call via roaming to their phone number to get them to send it to us. Poor experience.

A comfortable stay on Hallstatt.

The apartment was in a great location for us. It was quiet and a little bit removed from the crowd in Hallstatt. The apartment was spacious and well equipped.

Great as a base to explore this lovely part of the Austrian alps but plan to be away during the day or deal with thousan

We used this as a base to explore the Salzkammergut area, it was an excellent place to stay. The apartment was clean and well maintained and Monika was very helpful and close by.

Hallstatt itself is a nice, historic town but the large number of us tourists who converge every day from 10-16:00 create challenges. Staying right in town helped avoid many of these, since we usually were away in other areas during those peak hours, with no traffic to deal with but it did mean that restaurants, stores and other amenities were usually opening late or closing early, so plan accordingly.

Perfect

It was a really nice sized apartment, the host was lovely and warm. Nothing was too much to ask for. The apartment was super clean and really comfortable. Nice walk to the main area, lovely views of the lake and a bit quieter which we loved.

Great location, spacious apartment.

The property was in a quiet location with a beautiful view. The walk to the main part of town was so pretty and only took about 5-8 mins. Hallstatt swimming island can be seen from the property. There is a supermarket about 5 mins away. Our apartment was spacious, modern and very clean, with all the basic cooking equipment needed to cook meals when needed. Freebies like tea and coffee (coffee machine) were provided throughout the week, as well as bathroom toiletries. Bins were emptied and towels changed every 2 days. Our host, Monica was friendly and helpful.

All though the property didn’t have air conditioning, it was surprisingly cool as long as we left windows open. It would have been useful to have an iron, washing machine and a toaster. However those things aren’t listed as part of the facilities so we knew they weren’t provided and the apartment is still very good value for money. We would definitely recommend others to stay there,

Lakeside Weekend

The 2-bedroom apartment we shared was an easy walk to everything and away from the busy Main Street. In our apartment, one bedroom was huge and had 2 single beds pushed together (European King size) and the other room was a single. The kitchen and living rooms were spacious. There is a swimming area nearby and a bit of a lake view from the balcony. The kitchen is well appointed for 2 people. It has a microwave, stove/oven, coffee machine, and dishwasher. Monika supplies coffee pods, salt, pepper, and cooking oil. If you need groceries there are 2 supermarkets in town and 1 is a self-service, open until 8pm. Everything is super clean.

Be mindful that Hallstatt is a daytime town and many restaurants close quite early in the evenings. Don’t trust google maps in this area. It gave us very confusing directions about the ferries and walking tracks.

The most beautiful place on earth.

Location, cleanliness, apartment had everything. The owner was very helpful. Step out onto your balcony and see beautiful mountains steps away from the beautiful lake. 5 min walk to salt mine. This was by far the most beautiful place ever.

Monika was an amazing host. She offered to do laundry and even drove us to our train station when we were running late. Fantastic service and very kind. The apartment was clean and had everything I needed. Free coffee/tea is a bonus. Location is great too, only a 7 min walk to the main areas.

Location was great, the apartment was squeaky clean and Monica was really nice!!

The overall stay was great. Some additional things that may help another traveler to plan accordingly: It was missing some amenities like the iron box, we searched for it ourselves but didn’t ask Monica. The TV had local channels mostly and wasn’t connecting to the internet. So plan to carry your own device if you don’t speak the local language. There was no AC or fan and it got really hot while we were there. It is possible this might be an unusual temperature for Hallstatt.

Location was amazing. It was so much larger than expected and impeccably clean. I loved the view, the short walk into town, and the very nice hostess.

It was very nice! I would have like two more pillows on bed, but other than that perfect!
