Breathtaking views and wonderful host- highly recommend!

Anton was so friendly, accommodating, and informative- he made our visit to the Krampus festival just perfect! It’s a beautiful property with spectacular views and fresh mountain air. It’s a bit of a walk with a hill to town, but perfectly comfortable for us- a bit older, a bit in shape. The room was sweet and the bed comfortable. It had a private deck and towel heater, thoughtful touches with a cosmetic bag holding bathroom necessities. Breakfast was wonderful! Some of the best bread I’ve eaten in Europe- and that’s saying something! Though a smaller guesthouse, Anton includes more options for meat, cheese, etc. than many bigger places we’ve stayed at including some wonderful caponata-type mix of roasted veggies with cheese (I loved that) and polenta pudding (new for me, and I intend to make it at home)! My husband noted that the juices were varied and flavorful- these are often watered down. We will definitely come back here if we are in the area again!

While everything was incredibly clean, my sensitive nose did note the lingering smell of tobacco in the entry.

Fabulous host!

The views and ambience of the guesthouse are incredible. The host was so lovely and helpful. Breakfast is cute and tasty. Very spacious and clean rooms with balcony.

We found the mattresses quite lumpy and not very comfortable- also the shape of pillow not being rectangular! Sorry to say to say it, it may be us but we had to be honest.

Perfect location and wonderful two-night stay in Berchtesgaden.

Location was perfect, just five minutes outside of town. Room and entire facility were super clean. Bathroom was modern and beds were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and able to answer all our questions about the area. Breakfast provided sliced meats and cheeses, tea or coffee, juice, soft-boiled eggs and the wonderful German rolls. View from our room, number 9, was exceptional. It snowed overnight the second night we stayed and it was lovely looking out across the valley. We highly recommend and will be staying there again soon.

Amazing view

The owner was so kind. He was eager to introduce tourist spots to guests and let them know about the local weather. Amazing surroundings and great views. 15-minute walk to a lovely neighborhood.

Because we couldn't rent a car unexpectedly, the location was not good for us, but we knew from the beginning that this hotel is located in a secluded area. Definitely need a car.

Lovely and beautiful stay at Gastehaus Bergwald. The view from the back deck is incredible and 100% worth the stay. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a fully stocked kitchen and we were able to easily cook. Grocery store is a short 15 minute walk. Hosts were very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and topped off a great stay.

More than I expected! I recommend!!!!

The location is incredible with an amazing view and the family that owns the place is so nice and made no efforts to make us fell home. They gave us a lot of tips about what to visit. The room is big with a great view and the bathroom as well. The breakfast is delicious with fresh products. I recommend! For sure I'll return.

Anton was a very helpful and friendly host. The breakfast and daily boiled egg was excellent and set us up for the day. The room was lovely and clean, quiet and had a fantastic view. We had our own parking space provided which was very useful.

Really nice and clean property with beautiful views of mountains. Owner was very informative and friendly and offered tips on things to do around the area.

Perfect place for relaxed stay

The room we stayed at has big corner-shaped balcony and wonderful views. Supersoft bed was surprisingly comfortable even though we prefer stiff ones. Location is quite quiet yet just around 5-7 min driving from Berchtesgaden downtown. English speaking host was courteous and helpful completing our requests. Parking fits ~8 cars, we didn't experience lack of space.

We missed tea utensils in our room although there was kettle. Cups (not glasses) and spoons would be useful.

Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Die Unterkunft ist super gelegen mit tollem Blick auf die Berge. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und die Dusche ist super. Zudem wurden jeden Tag die Betten frisch gemacht und benutztes Geschirr ausgetauscht. Praktisch ist auch, dass man direkt vor dem Haus immer einen Parkplatz hat. Zudem kann man in 5 Minuten zu Fuß zum Salzbergwerk laufen und in ca. 20 Minuten ins Stadtzentrum. Besonders zu erwähnen ist auch das reichhaltige und sehr gute Frühstück. Am besten an der Unterkunft jedoch ist der Gastgeber Herr Brandner. Er nimmt sich jeden Morgen Zeit beim Frühstück mit den Gästen die Tagespläne zu besprechen und hat uns als Einheimischer sehr viele gute Tipps und Spots, die wir nicht kannten, mitgegeben. Vielen Dank für die tolle Gastfreundschaft! (auch an die Mutter)

Die Lage ist gut, Ortsmitte ist zu Fuß in 20 Minuten erreichbar. Ein kurzer steiler Anstieg zur Unterkunft. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich, gibt gerne Tips zu Ausflügen und Wanderungen.

Die Aussicht Bergblick ist absolut top - toller Blick auf den Watzmann und die Stadt! Die Lage am Hang etwas außerhalb der Stadt ist sehr ruhig und mit PKW gut zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war großzügig, es fehlte an nichts! Der Gastgeber ist nett und hilfsbereit und gibt gerne Tips und Empfehlungen für Aktivitäten usw. Das Frühstück ist gut, auch hier fehlt es an nichts. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Zauberhaft 🥰🥰🥰

Der Mann an dem Frühstück richtig süß und freundlich, hat uns jeden Tag erzählt, wo wir hin können und was man unternehmen kann. Die Lage an sich, die Aussicht - einfach nur mega, kann man nicht beschreiben, wie wunderschön das ist.

Wir haben das Gefühl gehabt, als ob die Putzfrau gar nicht aufgeräumt hat. Es waren immer nur Betten gemacht und Teller/Tassen richtig aufgestellt. Handtücher wurden ganze 5 Nächte nicht ausgetauscht und Boden glaube ich auch nicht gewischt. Die Kissen waren auch viel zu leer oder so, man hatte das Gefühl man hat gar kein Kissen. Aber die Atmosphäre hat es alles kompensiert, wir haben nur gute Laune gehabt und waren gar nicht böse. Das ist trotzdem ein sehr schönes Hotel, die Lage ist perfekt, aus dem Zimmer konnten wir direkt auf beiden Berge schauen und haben die Zeit dort genossen.
