The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. Parking was convenient and comfortable. The location is perfect — a golden middle between everything.

A comfortable, well appointed hotel with excellent staff who work hard to ensure you enjoy your stay

With the majority of visitors to Berchtesgaden arriving by train, this hotel is perfectly situated only 100 m from the station and local/regional buses. Although the listing is 3 star I feel it borders on four. The majority of rooms have views of the iconic Watzmann mountain that overlooks the town, ranging out to the Jennerbahn and Eagles Nest. Quite spectacular, and snow capped well into summer. It is a 10 minute walk uphill into the town centre, and if you are less abled, you may find the trip up a tad steep, but buses from across the road will take you into the zentrum for free using the Guest Card issued by the hotel. A taxi rank is also by the station. The rooms are spacious, immaculate and they appear to be triple glazed, making your room completely divorced from the traffic outside and from the internal noise of the hotel itself. Mattresses are all expensive memory foam (firm but extremely comfortable). There is a large walk in shower in the bathroom, plus a hairdryer and shaver point. Note that the usual hair/body wash is there in dispenser form, but the wash itself is basic, and you might need to buy something different from the supermarkets opposite (q.v.). There is a main restaurant, and a bar restaurant, both working off the same menu that is available in English, (if you are a meat eater, I really recommend their "Schwabenwirt Pan" consisting of three different types of meat.) The Maitre D is a credit to the hotel, courteous, polite, knowledgeable and with perfect English, he works hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. Beer is £4 per half litre and it is about the same for 20cl of white or red wine. Breakfast is buffet style, with hot food consisting of scrambled/boiled eggs and sausages. Over the road there is a small mall containing two supermarkets and a drink market. Supermarkets are Lidl and Rewe (Lidl being Lidl and Rewe being Waitrose). All in all, a great base for your Bavaria visit.

If you like an early morning cup of tea or coffee in your room you had better pack your travel kettle, as, strangely, no tea or coffee facilities are provided in any of the rooms.

Breakfast and the hotel restaurant is good. All the staff are nice and helpful! Very close to the main bus & train station, so we can use the guest tickets which are issued by the hotel to go to Koenigsee, Zauberwald and the old town. You can also climb to the Berchtesgaden old town and take the bus to main bus station. Thanks for all the staff there!

I personally don't like the bed, too soft and feels a bit tilted. I slept on the additional bed for the child, I think the mattress should be tested ;)

Absolutely lovely hotel right beside the main train station, very convenient if you want to visit the Königssee,we were very warmly welcomed by the staff at reception, the room is very spacious and bright and clean, the breakfast is also wonderful.

Everything was great. The location was perfect for travel and walking into town. The breakfast was fantastic with something for everyone. The room was very comfortable and a good size with enough towels and hangars for 3. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating.

We where close to the rail station W got the Sunday markets the atmosphere was wonderful We arrogated late by train due to delays and they kept the kitchen open for us to order quickly The beds where comfy, the rooms where quiet.

Misleading pictures

Reception staff were very polite and really tried to solve our issue. Thank you for this.

The room was awful. It was supposed to be a Deluxe family room but as we were informed by the hotel staff, some rooms were renovated and some not. We were given a rundown, very old room with a glass entrance door which felt very unsafe and sockets and some lights were not working. Reception informed us that it was probably a fuse and fixed it the second day. The photographs shown in booking were not even close to reality and very misleading. When I complained to the reception, they acknowledged the problem but informed us that there were no renovated family rooms available. In the end, the hotel management offered a 10% discount but it was by no means compensation for the misleading pictures and the room price which was very expensive for what was offered.

Great location and convenient parking space. Station, Burger King, REWE(LiDL), DM, and the fitness shop are just 3 mins away. Comfortable bed and clean room with delicious breakfast, especially in Germany. We also had dinner in the yard which is beyond expectation..... We really like this hotel and my son went for extra nights but unfortunately, they were full on weekend, We will stay there and recommend my friends this hotel if any chance.

Very friendly staff made us feel instantly welcome. Room was perfect for all of us (reserved 3 rooms), well kept and clean. Location perfect near the train station. Breakfast was tasty as well and good bonus. Big shout out to the restaurant on site which was also very good, very friendly staff and food was fantastic. 10/10 stay will be back.
