We loved the view and enjoyed so much the sauna and pool. It was the perfect stay after our wedding in Augsburg. The staff was super friendly fluent in English, but also patient with our basic German.
And the breakfast buffet is one of the best I have had.

Old hotel with charm which I liked.
Close to the middle of town and a shop across the road.
They have five parking spots allocated to the hotel so good if you can get one.
Having to climb flights of stairs after a long day with heavy bags.
Lift starts on the first floor not ground level which is a minor inconvenience.

Old world ambiance and large room / bathroom with good balcony and view (which you pay for obviously). Breakfast was ample and nice breakfast room with a great view. Handy location for the station and the old town. Ladies working at breakfast were friendly and hard-working.
I have never stayed somewhere that advertises a sauna then when you get there to go in it it is locked and there's a sign saying it is at additional cost (this is in the depths of winter ---). The swimming pool water was rather cold. The hotel is partially under renovation and parts of it are inadequately curtained off. The bar was closed over the festive period. No spare blankets or pillows in the room. Only terrestial tv. Sometimes it felt there was only one member of staff on duty - he worked hard.

Older hotel but it has everything I need - great location, a clean comfortable bed, and great breakfast selections. We stayed in room 44, up a level, and the hotel is a bit quirky so it's a bit like a maze with a few stairs here and there, passing a hallway and a lounge. I feel it adds to the charm of the old building and we really had no difficulties finding the room. The location is great for 2 reasons: view and proximity to the Altstadt. The view from our room was really spectacular, as was the view from the breakfast room. It's less than 10 minutes from the pedestrian zone. Check in was easy and the staff was super friendly

Loved the view from the room of the Alps! Had a patio with table and 2 chairs. Living are comfortable and room was spotless. Prime location and easy walk to the center of town.
Had to carry luggage up about 20 steps to just enter the hotel. Then had to carry up another 20 steps to reach an elevator. The parking is limited.

We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always pleasant. Great location, great price, bed and pillow are comfortable, breakfast was great and the staff was awesome. There are a few free parking spots for the hotel across the street. Or they will reserve you parking in a private garage right around the corner. We love this city and just enjoyed Krampusnacht there!

Grear location and breakfast
You should have advised traveler on city card for free transportation

We stayed here for a night at the end of a long distance walk along the Maximiliansweg. The hotel is on the edge of the old town and is handy for the station (less than ten minutes’ downhill walk away). Very good breakfast and a stunning view over the mountains from the windows of the breakfast room!
Rooms were basic and spartan (though clean). Expensive. No bar or restaurant - this felt like a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel.

Friendly staff, comfy and quiet room in central location, breakfast room with mountain view
Fairly overpriced, breakfast is a good choice but not considering the price it should be improved quality of food

Great view from the room and the balcony. Included breakfast even had freshly prepared fried eggs and Bavarian options. The place has an old fashioned feel but is well kept and clean.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were lovely and the views over the town were exceptional. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. My only complaint was that mine and my Son's rooms were on different floors when I had asked for them to be close together. I would certainly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again when we return to the town. Thank you.
The only thing I was not happy with is that our rooms were not close together, not even on the same floor as I had requested and I was given no apology or reason for this. It is also a fair distance away from the train station if you have luggage.

The view from the room and dining area was astounding. The backdrop of a cute mountain town was perfect for my husband's birthday trip to Berchtesgaden! There was so much to do in the surrounding area and the hotel felt older but very cozy! They even provided a fruit and champagne tray free of charge on my husband's birthday morning!
The parking situation is weird. There are open spaces in a parking lot (by a grocery store) in front of the hotel, but they are very limited. Other parking is found down the road a bit in parking garages, which means you must walk from the parking garage to the hotel, luggage and all. The indoor pool is cute but in the middle of June, it was cold. There isn't any air conditioning which is typical ofGermann hotels, however, we were on the third floor and it was very hot and humid. Even with the metal window rolladens, it was still hot and bugs were still getting in. Luckily our family was able to put up with it but it wasn't ideal for our toddler. We wanted to enjoy some activities within the town. The hotel previously offered free tickets for our stay so we could use local transportation. When we asked about them the man at the front desk said they were unavailable because the system was down.

Rooms were okay and spacious. I wish they would have put atleast one or 2 mirrors in the ladies room. It would have been such an accessory for women to get ready.
The bed is creaky and it moves when the upper berth person climbs down. I wish there were atleast one or 2 mirrors in the ladies room. During the check-in they could have made arrangements that the late night arrivals are put together in one room, rather than mixing it up with early arrivals and mid night arrivals.

Location to both the train station and downtown is excellent/ ideal.
Hotel layout is challenging and the rooms / facilities are dated

The view from the balcony
The staff (except for the young guy he was friendly) , but the woman working at reception made us feel like we were an imposition and not welcoming at all.

Location
Nothing

Nothing, only the personal are nice, but somehow, don't have the passion to help! Not 4 seasons level at all, not 1 or 2 degrees lower! Too low to be four seasons hotel!
Everything, it smells bad, everything is very very old, not authentic! It is too old!! Authenticity is something different!! Even the bathroom!! It collects water! The surface is not flat!! If the owner invested just 10% of the income in renovation! It would be much better than that!

location and view were unbeatable
this is a historic hotel so room size (at least the one I booked) was small.

Location
It was advertised that it had a lift but you first had to climb up 28 steps with your luggage to get to the lift. It was very difficult for us elderly. The bathtub was tall and deep which also was dangerous to climb into.

The hotel is nice but no elevator in the lobby we had to carry our big suitcases to first floor and then after a good walk with little of stairs too you will find an elevator.
But it a nice hotel with nice view to the mountain and a great breakfast

Perfect location for exploring Berchtesgaden and the surrounding area. Staff were all lovely and very helpful. Views were stunning- even on very overcast days.
You could say it needs a little update but overall the style suited the location. I would say the pillows are not good. But everything else was great!

We stayed here for Christmas, it's a nice hotel with a glorious view! And the communal areas are very nice to enjoy while reading a book or having a drink - with the mountains in the background of course. Would love yo stay here again.

Pros: proximity to all local public transit incl. DB trains, shopping district, nearly restaurants, cultural sites, hiking and climbing, and a very generous breakfast buffet. Nice pool and sauna too. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was a typical German lodge style, so if you're looking for 21st century modern, you may need to look elsewhere.
Being awakened at 7:45a by the 'Hausmeister" and his crew to fix a door that we had not reported (they got the room number wrong, and tried to come i while we were sleeping in).
