Location is fabulous. The hotel is clean and the room was spacious. We actually found that there was always at least one English speaker available at reception.
The dinner at the restaurant could have been better. Chicken was over-cooked

Nothing. Just the vicinity of the Itanhanga Golf club.
The fact that the Ibis and the Mercure hotels are sharing the same building, check in and restaurants is a non sense. I had to wait more than 40 minutes to check in. Quality of everything is levelled to low.
Very poor room amenities. Not even coffee, just herbal tea. 😳

Room with a view pics misleading as not two windows and smaller than it seems bit great view nonetheless.
Quilt on bed was torn and stained and bed sheet a poor fit. Bed not that comfortable....

there were flat queres of glass as lamps on the selling that were opening the glass all the time . at least 3 os them . one that I coverd with a wall sticker menu that I took to close the glass on the selling so what ever it was did not break it .
it was a horrible
night ! scared to death of failing rats from the lamp that were on all room .it was like they were waking on the top of my room so they kept trying to open the glass , that was the the only thing separating the bed and everything from the ceilings
horrible stay . I’ve stayed there before sometimes and never happened. traumatized.

The guys at the reception took 1 hour to check us in. During this process they said that we had to pay more than a thousand reais above what we really should pay.
We left the room at 8 AM and put the sign to clean out beedroom. We came back at 4 PM and the room wasn't clear yet.
My girlfriend had her entrance in the hotel denied by the security because he said that her bikini was too small. We saw plenty of other people entering the hotel in bathing suits.
The toilet hose was broken.
We stayed 1 hour without electricity.

Location
The hotel and its accommodations are poor. Every time we needed to talk to someone at the reception they NEVER pick up the phone. The restaurant is not prepared for a room service. I’ll never stay there again.

Location and staff are very good.
TV didnt work well, air conditioning has only one position, on top of my head in the bed. I got cold due to air conditioning. I had to stop to use it. Value offered is too low comparing to the price. I am planning to get other options when I come back.

The room was ok, comfortable, although the shower had little water pressure. And the AC was difficult to regulate the temperature.
The restaurant had terrible service. First, I ordered two meals via room service, by the phone. The attendant informed me it would take 30 to 50 minutes to deliver my meals. I accepted. But after 1 hour and 20 minutes waiting for my order, I called the restaurant to ask them. The answer was that my order wasn´t inserted in the system (they didn´t justify the motive of it)
and I should order again but would have the same waiting time (30-50 min). I asked for a special attention to my case since it was their fault. The answer was that they couldn´t do nothing about it. They argued the hotel was full and had many other orders, already. I had to go down to the restaurant to order locally, and even with that, they were not able to give me a special treatment. I had to wait.
Another negative occurance was during the checkout, when they charged me for the second time, since I had paid the bill when I checked-in, the day before. The attendant said there was nothing confirming my payment in the system. So, I showed my credit card payment billing via my cell phone, and I had to send an e-mail to the hotel attaching my credit card payment billing.
Really terrible. Apparently, the hotel has many system problems and also a lack of focus in the customer. Accor group, we are not talking about an economic hotel line. Thiis is Mercure, in Barra da Tijuca, one of the most important beaches and touristic places in Rio de Janeiro. So, please, take a better look at your services and professionals, there.
