Perfect cosy hideaway

We stayed here last minute due to our other accommodation falling through. From the moment we arrived Rosie was so lovely & made sure we have everything we need with brilliant recommendations for eating out. The room was so comfy & clean. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we've had (we even went to the butchers they use it was so good!) after an awful experience at first property, number 38 completely restored our faith & went above & beyond. We will definitely stay again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Stylish, upmarket accommodation in a fantastic location

An excellent place to stay for the weekend, a fantastic location and welcome.

Exceptional view, very good tasty breakfast, room was a high standard.

I'm being picky here..... one of the shower taps was a very stiff to turn!!! (which was reported and the mainteance team will look into it). The lighting for ladies to put on makeup on was poor.

We were very lucky to be upgraded and had a spacious room which was great as my husband is 6ft 6 inches. Breakfast was delicious and will be missed. The parking permit we were given was ideal as we were staying 3 nights so were able to park directly opposite the guest house and never worry about parking.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone

We received a warm welcome on a cold day from the friendly receptionist, to a lovely warm hotel. The room, number 8, was really nice; amazing view, comfy bed, big clean bathroom with a great shower. The attention to detail such as the complimentary macarons, the luxury toiletries, not to mention the delicious breakfast, made this stay perfect. Shame it was just 1 night! Thank you!

It is beautifully decorated with an amazingly comfortable bed and (joy of joys) really comfortable soft but supportive pillows! Breakfast was sublime and the staff were lovely too. We’ll be back…

Our experience was very disappointing and we won’t use it again.

Ours was a stylish room with a big bathroom with bath and separate shower. The in-room breakfast was reasonable, but there wasn’t sufficient to cover our second morning.

We weren’t told that Reception would be closed when we arrived at around 5pm on Christmas Eve. It’s normally open until 8. So, we were greeted by the locked door and a keypad which wasn’t clear in the dark. We found a button to “call” and were answered with a question as to whether we had received their email. No. So we were let in remotely and told our room number and where to find it. It wasn’t any kind of ‘welcome’. In the room the only hanging space was on pegs on the walls and there were no shelves or drawers, not even in the cubes beside the bed. Returning after visiting nearby, the room was cool. The valve on the radiator was turned to ‘off’. On the wall, a panel with a blank display had a label fixed saying Do Not Adjust. An isolator higher up was identically marked and switched to ‘off’. Nothing in the guest folder. Switching on the isolator and the valve did at least get us heat starting at 07:45 the following morning. The extractor fan in the bathroom only came on after switching the isolator to ‘on’ and the light off! The temperature control knob in the shower was so stiff that it was very difficult to turn.

Nothing of note. Car Parking can be difficult but staff very helpful. Location is a reasonable walk to Bristol centre -30 mins but Uber readily available.

Very pleasant experience and arguably different than a larger hotel.

The room was below ground and accessed via a tricky and narrow staircase but it was a large room, pleasantly furnished with a lovely bathroom that looked back towards Clifton. Breakfast was excellent set in a nicely designed room also looking towards the city. I was there for only a few hours and one night in total so I cannot comment any further as to its broader values.

I was lucky with the parking but anyone coming via car might have to plan ahead.

I feel very lucky to have stumbled acoss Number 38. I have stayed there a couple of times, and have been extremely impressed. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and it exudes quality in every aspect, from the rooms, the lounge, the breakfast (both in terms of options and quality). Highly recommended.

Sounds proofing between floors was not great. If other guests wake up early you might want to sleep with ear plugs so their footsteps don’t wake you up.

A fabulous breakfast both days of our stay. Parking can be difficult, but the hotel provided us with a parking permit so we had no problem. The room was very clean and inviting, and bathroom a very good size with separate bath and shower with good pressure. Nice view towards the City.

I’d challenge anyone to find a hotel that offers a better quality of experience

We had a fantastic stay, the property is one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. What sets this hotel apart from the rest is the attention to detail that makes your stay extra comfortable, whether it’s the fresh milk in your room or the clever layout that allows you to relax and enjoy the beautiful views from your window. The interior design is exceptional, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Welcoming, comfortable, luxurious, relaxing

The staff member who signed us in was absolutely lovely, she was very accomodating and made us feel comfortable. She helped us with knowledge of the area which was very beneficial. The room and lounge area were lovely. We loved the added touches of the robes and slippers, complimentary water and Nibbles too. Very comfortable and relaxing

The only thing for me was the shower was only an over head which was a struggle for me not to get my hair wet. But my Husband loved it as he does wash his hair daily
