Coalsheds..happy 1 night stay.

Stayed for 1 night..nice and clean..good facilities Shower is spacious, and really nice and warm. Good kitchen,free pool table and table tennis table.small fridge in room,with larger one in the communal kitchen.Great location for several pubs/restaurants including nearby Wetherspoons .Cheap carpark roughly 100 metres away.

As our room one appeared to have been an accessibility room the sliding toilet/shower room door doesn't shut completely, so we had to make our teenage sons aware when we were in there.

Very hot, but good style

The style, the coffee, the kitchen was great A great array of teas The honesty bar is a great idea The access was easy The bathroom worked well, the body wash smelled lovely

It was roasting in our room to the point we had no duvet and still sweating, despite turning the heater off There's no windows, and we felt a bit uncomfortable propping the bedroom door open to the communal areas We ended up putting the air conditioner on to cool the room down (in early January in a weather warning!) which felt a bit mad The mattress wasn't great but the bedding was soft and everything was super clean

the common area was great, communication super, friendly staff, unreal location, lovely placw to stay

the radiator in the main bedroom was broken which meant it was colder than i would have liked. luckily there was another radiator in the small bedroom but it didnt heat the whole place at all

Nice room, bad communication

Good room, clean, comfy bed

Good communication before arrival, arrived at midnight in bad weather, the entrance door is not clear and code didn’t work. No answer on 24hr number and WhatsApp number does not work. Fortunately I found the actual entrance door but communication needs to be better

Comfortable hotel room in a quirky building

Nice room in a funky building, with comfortable bed and good shower. The room was well equipped for tea and coffee making, with the communal area potentially useful for cooking meals, although we didn't need it for our one-night stay. Interesting area of Bristol with some nice places to eat. No staff on site but they were very responsive when we sent a message with a small query and also very proactive at providing the information we needed for check in.

Could be brilliant!

The communal vibe and decor.

That the air-con/heater unit has a known fault, so that it makes a horrendous loud noise all through the night. The management knows about the problem too, as I saw a previous review mention it. When I tried to get through to someone for help, the customer service was lacking to say the least. Also, the communal area, including the kitchen, was very dirty. They said they will be performing a deep clean, however, cleaning should take place after each paying guest to maintain a good standard of cleanliness. This clearly does not happen.

Great stay

Great rooms on a budget surprisingly when looking at the exterior spotlessly clean easy access arrangements.

Steps out of the rooms caught us out a couple of times drop needs to be highlighted to avoid any falls.

Short and sweet

Location was great and the accom is very well kept. It was absolutely perfect for a night. My only hassle was parking but that isn’t the fault of the staff or the coalshed, just keep in mind that parking limited and you should have a great stay!

Absolutely perfect!

The property was wonderful! It was a really relaxed place to stay, and absolutely perfect for our family with a 6 and 2 year old. The whole place was extremely clean, and had everything we needed, including lots of lovely touches like fresh coffee and granola. The communal space was fantastic, which lots of entertainment, and the rooms felt private even though they were off the communal space. We will definitely be returning to stay here! The area is perfect for families, with a park right on the doorstep, a pub with a beer garden right behind and plenty of lovely cafes and shops nearby. The harbour is a 10 minute walk with loads and loads to do with children. Thank you so much for having us!

Nice, convenient, cheap

Very clean and tidy, small but nice looking, very big comfortable bed. Bathroom was good, shower was powerful and the shower gel/shampoo etc provided smelt lovely. The self check in was very handy too, as we came quite late.

Very bright light on the fire alarm and the air con made frequent noises all night. Not terrible but it did wake us up a good few times. Also the bathroom door is like a sliding door and you can see through a big gap from the bedroom, didn’t bother me but it could to some people. The location is suspicious (attached photo), wouldn’t like to walk by myself there at night, be wary. Not just the exact street of the hotel but the surroundings too.

Simply lovely

A really coll and cozy place. It had everything we needed and we loved the attention to detail, for example the treats. You could tell it's a family run business by the warmth. Also, we had a (super) late arrival and the self check in process was so helpful, as were the instructions sent to us.

Parking was tricky, but managed to get a space outside by pure luck!

Brilliant and will be back!

Great little place. Facilities were brilliant and most amazingly there was air-conditioning unit which is rare to see in such a small space. Could make freshly brewed coffee in the room (we didn't get a chance this occasion as up so early). Spacious for a small unit too. I loved it and will be back on my next trip to bristol! I didnt get a chance to meet anyone working/running the place but I had all the information I needed in a text to get in and get key plus, plenty of information posts around the place on how things work.

The only very small con would have been the water tank on the toilet seemed to go off frequently as though it was partially flushing. It was noticeable throughout the night but I don't feel I would have noticed it as much if I wasn't already on edge about oversleeping as we had to be up so early.

Really wasn't comfortable with the location. As a solo female traveller arriving at night, the area looked run down and a bit threatening. The fact there were bins and a skip outside didn't help the curb appeal.

Great hotel with nice common areas.

Common area is huge with lots of amenities such as board games and pool game and a well equipped kitchen. Free cornflakes. Check in super easy. Just contact the owner on booking. Easy to reach by bus.

The room is quite big but the bathroom is small. The outside of the hotel is shady. Looks like a rough neighbourhood with lots of closed stores and graffiti.

Brilliant base for a family exploring

Great location, easy walking distance to Wapping wharf. Room was clean and very comfortable. Table Tennis, Pool table and board games were great additions. Kids loved the activities and the free biscuits and sweets. Would definitely stay again

The shower in Room 1 did not drain brilliantly. We let the cleaner know - who was very friendly. You can hear noise in the communal area and from the skatepark next door from the rooms - this didn’t bother us at all but worth being aware of.

Excellent and fun

Great location parking limited but expected. Loved the room / bathroom and amenities. Visually pleasing and clean. Instructions given promptly for codes to enter the property and room. Easy to access all information. Communal room looked fun but due to our late arrival and early departure we missed out on enjoying the tennis tables / games and socialising but there will always be a next time. Thoroughly impressed, excellent room for the cost and would definitely recommend staying. Thank you for the experience x

Exceptional

Great location next to a colourful skate park, clean and comfortable and great for single people and families. Its also nice to meet the other people staying there in the communal area playing pool or table tennis or one of the many games on offer. Really enjoyed the space and it's a credit to the proprietor's and I would definitely stay there again 👌

Clever concept

This is a clever concept hotel and I enjoyed staying there. The facilities are good. The in room 'brochure' provides helpful information and is cleverly set out. The information about how to get in and check out was clear, timely and through.
