Great stay in the heart of Bristol

The hotel was beautiful and our room was really nice. I liked looking out over the atrium. The bath was the best I have ever got in. Very luxurious

Nice hotel, very expensive bar, lack of hotel info

Noisy & too bright in corridor at night, so difficult to sleep as noise & light came under door. The view from our ground floor room was awful No literature in rooms with breakfast times & other hotel facilities info, we were told to check the website, useless

Honestly,cannot fault the location, architecture, food or staff at this regal looking hotel.

Breakfast buffet was lovely. Top quality. The decor was well done with rich jewel tones. Art work was tasteful. Staff was charming.

There was places need touch paint in hallways and some furniture was scratched deep enough to immediately notice. Parking was quite pricey but much needed for the weekend.

The car park bays are very narrow between the structural columns. Nothing can be done to improve this, but it does take time to park and unload etc.

Disappointed this time.

Location is great a parking is a bonus

The room we got given this time was lovely and bigger than normal. We were located on the lower ground floor but didn’t realise until about 1am that the room was opposite the back an area people congregate to get taxis and lifts late at night. The noise went on until almost 5 in the morning if we had realised it was going to be that noisy until this time we would have spoken to reception. Got to sleep about 5.30 to then be woken by cleaners at 10.15 (check out not until 12!). Very disappointing. Checked out just before 12 spoke to reception and they apologised but not a lot they could do. We have stayed here on numerous occasions over the last 3 years and this is the only time we have had any real issues. Going to try it once more as booked in again the end of this month. Fingers crossed it goes well otherwise will be looking to for another regular hotel in Bristol.

A great stay in a top class hotel with great facilities, wonderful staff and lovely food.

My wife and I, plus our son stayed at the Bristol Marriott Royal for the second Christmas in succession. The hotel is superb, location excellent, staff friendly and helpful, and the food top notch. We will definitely stay there again.

The location, the car parking arrangements and the comfortable bedroom as ever

The arrangements between Marriott and Miller and Carter, who have the catering contract plus a lounge on the ground floor in the main hotel are hopeless where customers are concerned. The lounge was permanently dirty and full of used cutlery and glassware. Comments to the Hotel reception, including the duty manager who is dressed as Fr. Christmas which made contentious issues more difficult, resulted in our being told that that was Miller and Carter’s problem without any attempt by the management to speak to Miller and Carter so far as we could see. Additionally, the bar Service was very poor. Understaffed and under manned generally, and on Christmas morning, Miller and Carter cut off about half the dining room which was laid up for lunch, meaning guests having breakfast were squeezed into only 50% of the available space resulting in unacceptable queues. Any reasonable attempts to put customers first and to look after their interests seem to have disappeared in this once grand Hotel which is a shadow of its former self. Needless to say, the general manager was not available having chosen to take Christmas away with his family, which is fair enough in one sense, but it would have been better had he moved his family into the hotel and being on site during this critical period.

The accommodation was excellent, breakfast left much to be desired.

The room and location were excellent.

The cooked breakfast was very poor indeed. Hash/browns, baked tomato, fried egg + pot of tea, and I don't like tomatoes! No sign of bacon, sausage, mushrooms etc. £18.50 very poor value.

Had booked as a group of 3 couples. One couple booked in prior to other 2. We were not put together. My room was very disappointing with regard to location in hotel. View from window overlooking bank of air conditioning that was noisy at night resulting in little sleep. For this I do not think the room was worthy of its price and would not say it is suitable for guest who are staying for more than one night.

Lovely and will stay here when next in Bristol

The generous bedroom was absolutely perfect and really comfortable. The staff were lovely and we thought the 12 noon checkout was perfect. Breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately the TV in our room wasn’t working but this was such a minor point.

There are road works outside currently so my iPhone sat nav sent us round in circles trying to find the car park

Had a nice stay

Had a one night stay as a treat for my daughter who had taken part in the remembrance Sunday parade as a air cadet and also because it was her birthday the following day,so was a surprise treat for her.Breakfast was lovely and fresh and great choice of what to eat. Room was huge,very clean, the rest of hotel was spotless also. Loved all the decor throughout the hotel. We had a lovely stay.

Liked everything about hotel. Only thing I would say is to put better instructions for the fab Nespresso machine that are in rooms which is a great bonus.

Hotel was amazing, the only thing i would say is staff wasnt friendly atall. Which is a shame as its such a beautiful place, we booked it for our daughters 5th birthday and she was so amazed by the building, we had a great time.
