Leonardo Hotel Newcastle Quayside

The location and the price was good for a hotel near to a city centre and major venues such as the Baltic and The Glasshouse. The river was vibrant during the day and night. The breakfast was good with a wide selection of both hot and cold options all of which where we'll presented. The room was clean and tidy ideal for our one night stay.

Our room was to the rear of the hotel so perhaps not the best view but we could still see the river but only just. The major fault was it was also near to the hotel bin store and the refuse wagon arrived at 4am. It was rather loud with reversing alarms and collection of the bins which woke us and so caused a disturbed nights sleep. It was also a staff parking area so once again you could hear early morning vo.i g and goings. The room was neat and tidy although you could tell that there had been a flood in the bathroom at one point causing damage to the bottom of the door. The lamp on the dressing table/desk didn't work either.

The location was excellent with a view of the river Tyne and the Quayside. The staff were helpful and pleasant and helpful. The standard of breakfast was good.

The room was very tired. The headboard fabric was peeling and dropping apart. The bathroom had peeling paint and enamel chipped in the bath. Thankfully it was perfectly clean but the overall impression was not good.

Bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing.

Parking space was limited so had to park down the road. The reception staff could have been more welcoming and smiling.

Bed was slanted and bathroom wasn't cleaned properly old toilet roll still there from previous occupant that didn't go down well!
