We had a couple having a domestic argument for hours slamming banging we could hear every word in the middle of the night were woken up. Allegedly night staff sorted it but this was after a long time.

Full of surprises but cute.

The location was easy to find. The building was newly built. The property was clean.

The advert said the property had a window, it didn’t. The staff were ok but got another customer’s room wrong, sending them to someone else’s room. The breakfast was grab and go, I didn’t realise. Maybe it was mentioned in the advert but it wasn’t noticeable. It took me a while to find the bathroom light switch. It was by the bedside but it’s so tiny you cannot tell. The room was cold!!! No heaters I struggle to fall asleep if I’m cold. Their blanket was thin.

Perfect for what we needed. Me and my daughter stayed in a double room without a window. Price was reasonable too

Great location for visiting Utilita Arena, only short 15 minute walk. Also good to have a close car park

Small rooms but were cosy. Bathroom very small and not much room for 2 adults but it was still perfect for what we needed it for.

Location was within easy walking 8n to the Utiilia Arena and centre . Staff friendly and helpful Sound proofing was excellent in room Card to room worked perfectly … many others in other hotels do not

Value for money. Expect noise

The hotel is really clean, simple and modern. You have to expect to be compact and that didn’t bother me at all. The room was really nice for the size.

The beds are incredibly uncomfortable! It’s like sleeping on wood. Also, you can hear every noise inside and outside. We could hear people moving around dropping things above us. You expect it a bit, but this was quite disruptive. I was well aware there wasn’t drink making facilities in the room, but I don’t believe you should have to pay for hot water if the in room facilities aren’t an option in the standard rooms.

Clean, comfortable and great location, quiet and not too far from the main city centre. Excellent pizzeria across the road from the hotel also!! Staff were nice, friendly and accommodating.

Good hotel if you are only pit stopping in one of the smaller rooms

Location was great, easy access to the centre of Birmingham. Checking in went well and the electronic key was absolutely hassle free. Room was tidy and clean, it was small but we weren't spending a great deal of time there.

Warm and friendly welcome.

Staff were amazingly friendly and so helpful. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great.

For the price, I would have expected to have a kettle in my room! Being able to make a hot cup of tea in my room would have made this stay perfect.

Horrific

I was freezing cold all night and was told it foes feel cold by manager to him and I mist go under my duvet had to use shower to warm up as he said the room doesnt feel cold to him

The way I was treated I was cold he told me the heating was turned up but it wasnt and did not have the ability to turn it up myself. Also accused me of substance misuse as he said his alarm has detected nitrous oxide ? Only to be then told its the shower that set the alarm off. Also so to be told he would call the police on me if I dont let him in. I told him my boyfriend wasnt dressed as trying to shower and told me no his not I heard laughing although I was on the phone. The hotel manager treated me like a criminal although I paid £200 for my room ?

Fabulous!

We loved our stay at the Bloc. The room was exceptional. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed. We booked a Premier room and couldn’t believe what we had. A full size fridge, microwave, Crockery etc as well as a sofa, table and chairs. We also had a separate bedroom with a Tv as well a one in the lounge area. Everything was perfect and so comfortable.

Convenient to walk to from the station and also to get to the concert at The Utilita Concert Hall. Staff friendly and helpful

Very small room with just water but no tea/coffee etc. Bed took up vast majority of room so nowhere to put anything or sit comfortably. No breakfast available or any other 'break-out' area. No view from window. Very expensive considering what little you get for your money

Happy despite the cannabis smell.

Very clean, not too busy on the days/nights I’ve stayed.

Properly is nice, it is my second time staying. I will continue to stay here over other hotels in Birmingham. The only negative is, on the second floor the room next to us and the corridor smelled of Cannabis. And it didn’t make leaving and entering very pleasant.

Location was great. The room was good, perfect for one night.

It was disappointing that the lift was out of order. I have a knee problem, but luckily we were accommodated on the ground floor.

Great stat overall and I would definitely come back. A lovely hotel.

Lovely, clean, modern and the building was lovely and quiet. I really like how you can control things such as the lights in your room and the temperature from your phone too. The TV was also a smart tv which was good.

Bathroom was lovely but it was a shower room which meant water got pretty much every where. I wasn’t the biggest fan of that but the overall look of the bathroom is nice.

The location was great the room was clean and suited my needs with having a child with me. The food shops were close by and it was great just to walk around the area. Staff were fantastic approachable very helpful and very child friendly. I will be booking again and also recommending friends and family to do so . Thank you all for a great experience of how a hotel should be ENJOYABLE :)

Nice for a couple of days.

The room was clean and loved the fact you can screen your phone so i was still able to watch all my fave shows. The room had AC which was great during the heatwave!

The room is super small and the shower / toilet situation is really a tiny wet room. Be prepared to put a towel on the carpet as you cant step out to anywhere else. The lift wasnt working and we were on the top floor so the walk up was annoying. Also the key card being on your phone was such a faff as i had to find the link each time. I thought this was cool at first, but quickly became as hassle to keep looking for link when we were coming and going. A key card would have been more efficient.
