The onsen was amazing! It's really nice to be able to go in a mixed-gender couple in private, which is hard to find in Japan. They provide yukatas, slippers, and bath products. We found the host to be really responsive via Booking.com messages, even though she was not usually physically present. Other folks have mentioned the hallways are chilly; we didn't find this to be an issue as we had control over the heat in our room, which was nice and warm.
We requested for our room to be cleaned and that was missed; this was an honest mistake but just a bummer. Once I messaged the host to bring this to her attention, she arranged to have extra tea and coffee bags brought to us that night so we would be all set for the morning, and she got the room made up the next day.

The private onsen was absolutely lovely. The room was spacious and the beds were incredibly warm and comfortable, especially for the cold winter night. The owners were both super helpful and kind too!
Having our own shower would have been ideal but the shared showers were nice and clean so it wasn’t too much trouble in the end. The town was quiet which isn’t the ryokan’s fault, it’s just a very lowkey area.

A bit far from train station. I think food was expensive. I suggest you offer a light dinner and breakfast for a cheaper cost.
