Hotel Omodaka

The sweetest Ryokan, and staff. Great location. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Unbelievable lunch available for purchase on site. Two onsens each for men and women. Close to Snow Monkey park. Free pick up and drive to the train station. Kimonos provided. Such an incredible cultural experience.

Very nice and pleasant hosts. They showed me my room and I could check in late in the evening without any problem. The onsen was very good and the one outside was very pleasant. I really liked the sauna as well. The view from my room was fantastic! There was beer in the fridge and hot water for tea.

For 10/10 I would have wanted more cozy warm lighting both on the outside onsen and in the room, but this is a personal preference.

Onsen was great and room was comfortable, with lovely views across the adjacent river and valley.

Room and facilities are quite dated, but still very clean and comfortable.

We went here kind of accidentally. I booked this hotel thinking we were closer to a restaurant i wanted to go to but i didn't understand the map and the hotel was an hour away from the restaurant. Best mistake i ever made. Yamanouchi in October is an incredible place to stay. Hotel Omodaka is an excellent place to be. The sound of the river rushing by outside, the traditional futon and pillow on tatami was all something from a dream. Great views, great onsen facilities, amazing and helpful staff. Best cheeseburger I've ever had in my entire life. I completely forgot my original plans and just let Yamanouchi take me over. The bigger mistake i made was only staying for one night. I will be back!

I didn't like having to leave this wonderful town on the mountains. But even the train leaving was a storybook experience!
