I had a wonderful stay at this authentic Japanese ryokan. The charm of the place lies in its simplicity and traditional feel. Though the ryokan is old, it has a timeless authenticity that makes the experience unique and memorable. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and it was a pleasant surprise that they could converse in English, which made communication effortless. One of the highlights was the meals. Both dinner and breakfast were simple but absolutely delicious, showcasing the essence of home-cooked Japanese cuisine. However, if you’re expecting an elaborate kaiseki meal, this might not be the place for you. Overall, it’s excellent value for money, offering a genuine ryokan experience with warm hospitality and satisfying meals. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic and unpretentious stay.

Yuko was lovely sadly property run down, food excellent, glad we did not have to use fire escape

We arrived 6 hours before checkin to leave our luggage and head to the snow monkey park and they were kind enough to drive us right to the entrance , they have a pass so we didnt have to walk up from the bus stop like everyone else.
