Five Peaks Jigokudani

今年で３年目でしたが、相変わらず過ごしやすく快適なお宿でした。 BBQの環境も整っているので、いつかはまだ寒くなる前の時期にみんなで来てゆっくり過ごしてみたいと思っています。 ２階にもシャワールームができており、とても便利でした！

たいしたことではないですが、自炊なので調味料などの有無がわかっていれば、事前に準備ができると思いました。ただ、消費期限の管理やいたずらをされる恐れもあるので、難しいところなのでしょうね。 お鍋が少なかったのと、炊飯器の調子が悪いのかお米の炊きあがりが難しかったです（サイズも大きいとよかったと思います）笑

Our stay at Five Peaks Jigokudani was the most relaxing and memorable accommodation during our entire trip to Japan. Our stay in October was unusually warm for this time of year and we came specifically to see the Snow Monkeys--but no monkeys in sight for the first two days. We got lucky on our last day, with a little snow and close to a hundred monkeys! A moment we will never forget. The park itself is very close to Five Peaks, walking distance from the front door to the actual park is about 25-30 minutes. Walk to the bus stop is about 5 minutes. We found a cute cafe in the bus stop area and The Farmhouse for dinner, just a short walk away. The house was VERY expansive and well equipped for our entire group, with plenty of comfortable beds for everyone. Our hosts (Daniel and Chie) were communicative and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I even thought I lost my wedding ring (later found in the bottom of a suitcase) and Chie responded right away to have the cleaning staff attempt to locate it. Bonus was having a washer AND dryer, as we'd become accustomed to hanging our clothes to dry in Japan. We also loved the tatami room and the outdoor seating area under the shaded pergola (don't miss out on relaxing at the one in the backyard, as well.) We also had a wonderful time exploring the nearby onsen town, but made the mistake of staying out too late at a fun karaoke spot and missed the last bus back up the hill. It was raining and a bit of a hike, but it made for a wonderful travel story and we burned all our calories from dinner. Just a heads up, for fellow travelers without vehicles, if you don't want to walk uphill, pay attention to the bus schedule or plan to book a taxi in advance. If you don't mind walking, it's both doable and fun to go from the town to Five Peaks, in under 25-minutes. (Just don't forget to pack an umbrella in the case of rain.) Overall, Five Peaks exceeded all expectations. We truly hope to stay again.
