Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya

It gave us a very traditional Japanese experience/ was wonderful.

No private showering facilities other than in the Onsen but we appreciate this is also part of an amazing experience, so this is not a criticism.

We had such an amazing experience here, I cannot rate this place highly enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the onsen, the delicious breakfast, and most of all, the incredible hospitality. Akira-san and his family accommodated us in every way, from preparing a vegetarian-friendly breakfast to driving us to the snow monkey park the next morning. He was very patient with my limited Japanese, and even taught me some new phrases. It was really an unforgettable experience, and I will absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Nagano. Note that this place is about a mile away from Yudanaka station and the snow monkey park each in either direction; I didn't mind walking but you can also take a bus, just be sure to plan ahead.

Nothing – everything was exceptional.

Everything about our stay was amazing. Akira was incredibly kind and friendly and they accommodated the request for vegetarian meals for some of our guests. The onsen and our room were both amazing, and the breakfast was delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Comfortability of the hotel, helpful owner & staff. Plus an amazing 2 days variety breakfast!! Make sure you order the breakfast & try the onsen at the hotel for full experience.

The transportation of the city (public bus,direct limited express train, etc) stops quiet early. So make sure to check all timetables in the morning
