It was a delightful introduction to Trieste.

I loved the location. Our room had two private balconies overlooking the waterfront. The sunsets were tremendous. The breakfast was outstanding. The concierge was extremely kind and helpful. All his suggestions were worthwhile.

There were some very minor issues with the plumbing. Shower pressure and running toilet, but both were immediately fixed.

Great stay!

Location is perfect, just in center and everything is in walking distance. The sea is just across the road. The room was excellent. Great breakfast, for vegans also. All staff are very helpful. We parked cars at the parking across the street. Highly recommend this hotel and hope to come again soon.

We were so happy we chose to stay at the Savioa Excelsior Palace!

This is the perfect location in Trieste! Close to everything, beautiful areas in which to walk, shop, and dine. The facilities were elegant and lovely, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The service was excellent and friendly in both the Savoy restaurant (breakfast) and Le Rive lounge bar (late-night drinks). Also, the concierges were very helpful.

I can't think of anything that we were unhappy with or would have changed.

Would certainly recommend the hotel and indeed the city and region. Food & wine were excellent.

Visited Trieste for anniversary - a part of Italy not been to before. Hotel location was superb - sea front overlooking the cruise liner terminal. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony watching the port activity. Staff were very helpful, with specific mention due to the Concierge service.

Breakfast service at times when serving dishes were low or empty. A bit more active replenishment was required. As would be expected continental fare rather than a wide ranging cooked service but the food quality was good so no complaints with that aspect.

Great location. Breakfast was very impressive.

Waiting in the lobby bar for service was a bit slow. Twice we went down for a drink before going out and we waited quite a while. Also the hotel is used for conventions and meetings so some of the nice areas like the atrium were not able to be used which was a bummer seeing your are paying top dollar for these facilities. I e stayed here many times and was surprised they have introduced a 5% tip at check out. Lucky I read about it as I wasn't told it was optional at check out. I had to bring that up. Is this America? You pay a lot to stay here I can't see why there now is a reason to try and get you to pay towards the wages of staff. They were friendly but the service was not acceptional.

Elegant, comfortable hotel in the heart of Trieste, perfect location for exploring and dining out

The location was perfect for our short stay. Close to the waterfront and restaurants., cafes and shops. Easy to reach by taxi from the station and to visit the Castello Miramare. The hotel is very elegant and comfortable. The staff and the concierge very helpful, breakfast plentiful and varied.

the style of the building and its condition, the upkeep and the sea view... the breakfast was top notch, as well.

it took almost 40 minutes to get our car back from the valet parking at the check-out. I guess that ordering it well in advance before the check-out might have resolved this issue, but one must have been notified about that at the check-in.

This is a luxury hotel on the Adriatic shoreline, just opposite to the cruise terminal. Sea view rooms are wide, comfortable and very pleasant. The staff is kind and serviceable.

Very sunny stay in Trieste

Almost everything - the service, the room, the bed, the view, the balcony, the shower - all were great.

The bedside tables are unusual. They appear to have a drawer due to the knob, but they are actually closed boxes. Sometimes eggs - omelette, scrambled - were in short supply.

Perfect location, hotel in grand old style.

Location was stunning, we had a room overlooking the harbour with a nice balcony. Staff were very friendly especially Giovanni in the bar. Breakfast very satisfying; concierge made excellent recommendation for a trip.

We couldn’t get a taxi from the station when we arrived and hotel couldn’t help. We were able to walk but it was a good 15 mins - good job we had rolling cases.

This was another most enjoyable stay at one of our really favourite hotels.

The balcony room overlooking the Gulf of Trieste was spacious and very well appointed, This was our second visit to this very fine traditional hotel. Two of the staff (the head porter Alexandro and concierge Ariane) recognised us from last year. Valentina on reception gave us both a charming welcome. We do really enjoy staying at this exceptional hotel. All the staff are very friendly and take pride in working in such an iconic establishment. Others have informed us that this is the finest in the Starhotels Group of hotels in Italy. We will be back again for sure.

The hot breakfast dishes could have been warmer. Occasionally the orange juice at breakfast was not quite up to scratch. It may need to be sampled by a staff member beforehand.

The cruise ships stop exactly right in front of the hotel, so you can't see the sea! Fitness and wellness facilities are very poor. Even after the payment of the invoice, the 50% amount previously seized as security from the bank account was not released a week after. No inform when it will be done.

The interior design is absolutely lively.

The Savoia once was a lovely hotel, but now huge cruise ships, sometimes bigger than the hotel itself, park right in front of the hotel, though I do not know how often. The rooms with with sea view should correctly be renamed rooms with a ship view. There is no possibility to get Cappuccino before the actual breakfast starts. For me, the Savoia always was THE best hotel in Triest, but with the cruise ships the charm has gone.

This is an excellent traditional hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night's stay in a fine city.

The breakfast was very good. The balcony bedroom overlooking the bay was excellent. Arianna, the concierge, and Alexander, the porter, were both charming and very helpful.

There just needed to be tissues in our room. It was probably just a staff oversight.
