Dreadful. I could never recommend this hotel to anyone

Breakfast was very good with helpful staff.

Room was dreadful because the bathroom was open to the bedroom There was a very dangerous step to the bathroom area which was not illuminated at night There was no soap or fan in the toilet which only had a semi transparent door The only window that could be opened looked straight into the next door neighbours kitchen The room was situated in a ‘ garden’ but lacked privacy as the windows looked straight into a communal area outside and so had to be kept shuttered Getting to the room meant negotiating steep stairways outside It was necessary to wear outdoor clothing to come into the hotel for breakfast There was only one sitting room chair in the room This was all supposed to be one of the best rooms in the hotel… a junior suite.. yet the whole experience was like sleeping in a shack with bathroom facilities all open to view so completely lacking in privacy This was the very worst experience we have ever had and the hotel should not be rated anything like 4 stars. I would give it nearer 2 Outrageously expensive, uncomfortable and a degrading, undignifying experience.

The staff were amazing from the front desk to the best bartender ever (Aldo)…. Breakfast was amazing with so many options. Location couldn’t be better!

Lovely hotel in a great location. Whilst the room was fine, it was not ‘luxury..

Great location, fabulous breakfast selection, lovely design and very clean throughout.

Did not think bedroom was of luxury standard as per booked. Bed very hard and uncomfortable.

Would not hesitate to go back again and recommend to family and friends

Location was perfect. Size of Hotel was lovely, cozy and personal. Beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and fairy lights. Breakfast was great, nothing forgotten.

Shame the rooftop bar was not open. Although we went in December the weather was brilliant, all sunshine, lovely crisp winter days. With patio heaters it would’ve been lovely to sit out and look at the views from the roof.

Location is good in city center and easy for walk around.

The room I selected turned out to be in a remote apartment building, separate from the hotel’s main building, with no staff, no facilities and no room cleaning services. It was located about three streets away from the hotel. This was not clearly stated when booking through Booking.com, so it was very misleading. If I wanted an Airbnb-style stay, I would have booked through Airbnb, not via the hotel’s website on Booking.com. I’m extremely disappointed.

Extra comforts

The studio apartment had all the comforts and amenities I needed for this stay. Plus the apartment featured a super king size bed and the location was perfect for my very brief stay in town. I'd be happy to return.

I liked it!

Very nice apartment. Everything is new, space was big, sheets and towels had a great quality. It’s very well located as well.

The shower was one of those modern ones that you kind of need instructions to understand how to use it 😂. Which way is the hot water? Which way is the cold one? Where do I turn to get water from the overhead?

A very well located hotel. Our room was on the smaller side but comfy, however it had a huge bathroom! The staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was fine; it wasn’t the best with the hot items available but there was good selection otherwise and the staff were very attentive.

Lighting in the bathroom - need extra lighting for makeup/shaving etc. fire door outside made it dangerous for occupiers in the event of a fire. No window to look out or fresh air. A bit stuffy Felt like being in a cupboard.

Too noisy within the apartments because the units aren’t soundproof. This is an apartment, not hotel

The place was clean and in a good central location.

Not a hotel, it’s an apartment. Had to walk almost 3-4 blocks from the hotel, to the apartment. Different location. Not a huge deal. Worst part was the units are not soundproof at all. You hear and feel everything above you. Guy above me was up until 1:30 am making tons of noise, and I couldn’t sleep. Fridge didn’t work.

Good room, very clean and comfortable. Good location. Great rooftop bar and staff all excellent, very chilled vibe and tunes. GREAT bar nibbles. Beautiful sunset views . Great air-conditioning.

A minor point but the hand-wash in the bathroom located on opposite wall to sink. Terrace inside inner walls. A little claustrophobic.

Good hotel in central location. Modern room (1st Floor) with small outside garden space (two chairs and a table) and an excellent shower room. Rooftop bar a nice touch

Good sized room, comfortable bed, good selection at breakfast, staff friendly. Location of hotel between old town sights and train station to access Parma, Modena, etc. Loved the rooftop bar.

Seating in breakfast room too low and soft. Only one chair in bedroom. We expected a shower but the shower was over a large jacuzzi bath. I asked for a non slip mat but my partner could not get over the side safely. There was very little hanging space and just 6 hangers provided. Perhaps they only expect 1-2 day stays, not 5 days?

Perfect stay in a great city with nice day trips by train to surrounding areas.

Really nice location. Really nice city and food. Walking distance to most attractions, shops, bars and restaurants. Very nice rooftop bar with nice staff. Not far from the train station. Lot of places to visit by train over a day.

Good location but overpriced for the quality.

The hotel is very well located just off the Via Independenza main shopping street. Service from the reception was excellent especially they organised a surprise for my wife’s birthday at short notice which went great.

The room could do with some maintenance - mouldy grout on bathroom tiles, wobbly tables that just need a screw to be tightened (but made them unusable), paintwork very marked. I was not keen on the faux leather sofa and cushions which were very plasticky and cheap looking. There was a minibar with drinks but no glasses provided. There was a coffee machine but coffee pods were not replaced both days until we asked. Drinking water was also not replaced one day.

Mum & I had a wonderful stay in beautiful Bologna only enhanced by the luxury of the Metropolitan !

Great location, excellent room with a wonderful little private terrace, breakfast was great with very attentive staff and the roof terrace was a wonderful bonus which turned into a great little bar at night time. Bologna itself was an amazing city to visit.

Only negative was that the shower was over the bath.
