I booked two rooms for my family group.
In one room, the curtain that lets you see the bathroom didn't work (you can see the bathroom interior from the room, because instead of a wall, there's a huge glass panel). This meant that whenever a person uses the bathroom for any purpose, the other can see everything from outside. Since it is a mechanical curtain, it can't be closed manually. So, imagine how awkward it was!
Also, in both rooms, the A/C didn't work. It is mid June, 29 degrees Celsius in Hamburg, carpet floors: go figure. Fair to say that at least there were windows that allow a partial opening and gave a little relief to the very warm interior.
That is not what I expected from a four-star luxury hotel, which is expected to attain to higher standards. You pay an accordingly higher rate after all.
When I let the from desk know of these issues, they said THEY WERE AWARE of the A/C issue. Oh boy that pissed me off. I can understand that something suddenly malfunctions - it happens. But letting us check-in knowing that they were giving us room without A/C in a hot summer day, that was so disrespectful to say the least.
The only compensation I received was free parking (one day). Unbelievable.
