Good value for price, accessible and clean hotel

The hotel is a great historical building. The metro is 200 meters from the hotel, which is very convenient. 6-7 station to historical place. It's next to a large park. Great breakfast.

Air condition for heating in the room wasn't working, and it was cold. So they brought a heater into the room. The shower water wasn't hot enough, it was a general problem. The double bed was two separate beds, and the middle had a hole in it that wasn't suitable for sleep.

Four stars, but no A/C

Good breakfast

I booked two rooms for my family group. In one room, the curtain that lets you see the bathroom didn't work (you can see the bathroom interior from the room, because instead of a wall, there's a huge glass panel). This meant that whenever a person uses the bathroom for any purpose, the other can see everything from outside. Since it is a mechanical curtain, it can't be closed manually. So, imagine how awkward it was! Also, in both rooms, the A/C didn't work. It is mid June, 29 degrees Celsius in Hamburg, carpet floors: go figure. Fair to say that at least there were windows that allow a partial opening and gave a little relief to the very warm interior. That is not what I expected from a four-star luxury hotel, which is expected to attain to higher standards. You pay an accordingly higher rate after all. When I let the from desk know of these issues, they said THEY WERE AWARE of the A/C issue. Oh boy that pissed me off. I can understand that something suddenly malfunctions - it happens. But letting us check-in knowing that they were giving us room without A/C in a hot summer day, that was so disrespectful to say the least. The only compensation I received was free parking (one day). Unbelievable.

Great hotel - huge queues in the check in

Great location and a very nice hotel to stay.

The staff/ service is not good. It took line over half an hour to check in the morning and there were even more people in a queue. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Birthday Trip - Perfect stay!

Lovely hotel, amazing staff! We stayed here for my boyfriends Birthday and the staff made our stay perfect, they were so friendly and welcoming! The bar staff were especially lovely to us!

Great location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast

Overall, we've enjoyed staying at Movenpick. The location is convenient to reach the other parts of the city. If you'd need to snack at night, you're able to reach the restaurants and other options. Breakfast was great. Yegane checked us in, and she was welcoming and friendly. We had a room towards the upper floors with a view of the city.

Noise isolation let us down. On one of the days, there was some sort of a party going on, and we ended up having to listen to some music we'd rather not, until midnight. The windows were closed, but there was no way to save ourselves from the music, presumably coming from the park nearby.

One night in Hamburg

Excellent Breakfast, wonderful view. Staff friendly & helpful. Great location. 2 minutes to station, 5 minutes to Sternviertel which has great bars & restaurants.

One of the escalators not working so after 24 hour flight had to push my suitcase up ramp. Our 15 floor room was great but no air circulation until we requested to have 2 windows opened slightly. Handles removed so unable to do it by self.

A great experience that you want to repeat.

The place is amazing, they kept the atmosphere of the old building but filled it with modern interiors. The experience in general is great and the view from the windows in the room is excellent, due to the fact that the hotel is already on the hill. Room was in perfect condition, fresh and clean. The breakfast was great and diverse.

fantastic hotel in a great location

It looks fantastic and has great views. Rooms are quiet and beds are very comfortable. views from the rooms are superb too.

Only 2 issues, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner wasn’t replenished after our first night. On checkout there is a need to wait in long queues. surely this could be automated.
