Good location, but minimal comfort

Good location

No information was supplied on when the reception closed. When I arrived shortly before 19.00, a member of staff was just locking up. It turned out they had sent me a pin for the key safe (not the same as the booking pin), which I could not have accessed without internet. So it would have been a major inconvenience if I had arrived 5 min later. No lift. Minimal equipment in the room, no kettle, not even a glass for brushing the teeth. Hairs in the shower. Plugs so far away from the table that I had to sit on the bed to work on the laptop. Rubbish breakfast, no fruits or vegetables, only one kind of cold meat. No indication that they charged extra for the breakfast, which was not value for money.

A Nice Charming Hotel

This is a very charming hotel that has a real sense of going back in time. They should make more of a feature of its age. Really friendly and helpful staff.

The online check-in. It feels very impersonal and creates a poor first impression. Although it's age has a certain charm, the hotel does need some TLC. I came across quite a few things in need of fixing.

The day reception staff person was lovely, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was freshly cleaned, spacious and comfortable.

The evening reception person was grumpy and everything seemed too difficult. The room didn't have any coffee facilities or even a jug to boil water, and certainly no refrigerator.. The day reception person allowed us to put a few things in the kitchen/bar freezer, but that became quite an issue to retrieve them later with the evening reception person. Again the day reception person boiled the kitchen jug for us to put some water in a thermos We didn't know how to check out as we wanted to leave early abt 6am. Everything was in darkness, so we just let ourselves out the front door.

Hotel was the last stop of our bicycle trip from Lithuania to Germany, so the hotel was like a heaven, very clean, cozy, we got a huge queen room for a really decent price, with sofas, tables, big and nice bathroom, also a private terrace on the roof. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they let us to take our bicycles with us and keep them in our terrace. Nice food for breakfast.

Superb

The staff at the reception upon arrival( sunday afternoon) was very much helpful. I was desperate tring to book something online, but my ipad crashed again and again. However, the receptionist allowed me to use her desktop instead . Thanks to her, I could book the last flight to Tallinn and meet my family the very next day. I do not know her name, but I am truly grateful for her help.

The male receptionist is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located very close to the main railway station, port and city center. The bed and breakfast were ok.

The room was a bit smelly and dusty. The bedside table was dusty. There were spider webs in the corners on the ceiling and windowsill. The bed location is very inconvenient, the person will struggle to pass by to open a window. The room is a bit overpriced, probably due to high season. Mini fridge in the room would be a great addition. If you are planning just to sleep there it's an acceptable option.

CSI episode: The old and uncomfortable hotel with incompetent and rude staff

The hotel provided nothing on its own, only its location is good, close to the main station.

Everything, the hotel is old, long overdue for a renovation. The room was simply horrible, the flooring was covered with carpet that looked like it was used in a murder scene. There were various stains, different color, age, some of them smelled and it looked also like there was mold. I think even CSI would have a hard time figuring out what they were. The TV was the kind you switch on once and works fine, but next time it comes on without sound and you need to switch it off completely from the electricity in order to get it working again. The bed is old, uncomfortable, squeaks at every movement and seems very instable. The cushions were simply bad, too old and low grade, my dog has a better cushion than that. The door of the toilet is a sliding glass door and it basically leaves a 2-3 cm large gap between the wall and the door and it is see through with the light on in the toilet. Also no sound dampening of the door so expect to be listening to anyone doing there business while being in the same room! The room had also no glasses, no stands for the toothbrush, towels were old and very scratchy. The actual toilet flushed so slow and with such large response lag, I literally felt like times slow down when I am flushing. The breakfast organization was bad, they give you a time schedule to select your breakfast time, but you can select what is left. I ended up with choosing either really early from 6:30 or after 10:00, which of course is not convenient either way if you are on business or if you have a chosen morning time for a trip, etc. The breakfast had some things, but nothing specifically well prepared. Sometimes there was juice and water sometimes not. I got once a vegetable slice that was simply bad, the taste was moldy. The staff was also incompetent and unfriendly. They know how to talk English to get the stay payed in advance, but when it came to taking questions and solving problems, then suddenly their English capabilities disappear. Basically stay away!

The stay was phenomenal, keep in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel and you get what you pay for, but for the price it was really good. Nice sized room with a comfy bed, everything was clean, staff is really friendly, I had nowhere to leave my bags because check-in was at 2 pm, I called and asked if I could leave my bags at their hotel at 8 am and they were okay with it and took care of my stuff. The breakfast was nice as well. The location is really good too. Overall I am more than satisfied.

Wifi is a bit sluggish sometimes, it needs a little renovation especially in terms of carpeting , but other than that everything was great and even these issues were minor.

We liked that there were (at least some) vegan breakfast options and that the breakfast, which was good, was included in the price. The staff was outstandingly friendly, helping and discrete. The room was already warmed up when we came in, that was a lovely detail. Everything was clean and comfortable. There was a bathtub and even a bidet in the bathroom. We could use a parking lot for 8 € a day, which was helpful. The hotel is very central and you can reach it by foot from the train station or ferry. There are bus stations, a shopping mal and lots of cafes and restaurants near by.

The decoration style of the hotel (lots of different styles and colors that don’t fit together) That there were only little vegan options at the breakfast buffet and that the stuff couldn’t tell us if the bread rolls were vegan. More vegan options and information about the provided food would be great! And the one vegan option that was offered was unfortunately quite unpleasant in taste, so another product would be lovely. The coordination of the tables at breakfast time, we had to ask where we were allowed to sit and they haven’t figured it out beforehand. It would be lovely if one could have one specific table you are allowed to use during your stay.

The staff is very pleasant. The room was quiet and cosy as well. I also like the breakfast. Very close to the railway station and the city center.

There is no elevator, unfortunately. For tired, elder of with huge luggage might not be that comfortable. But the price is ok as well as the service.

Ok for the location

It was in a good location to the town center.

It was overall just less nice than I was expecting from the reviews and photos. One of the rooms was rather fine while the other was less so. The second room was rather worn and it was two single beds pushed together to make a double, instead of a double bed. The bathroom in that room also didn’t have a door, just a sliding piece of panel, almost like a closet. The staff was decent enough but completely unwilling to change dates even with a couple weeks notice.
