even though there is air conditioner, lack of fresh air when you really need it still felt strong, in the absence of windows for ventilation, it feels not so good, especially for people who prefer to stay longer like 15 days or more, I think --no windows --setup is not sustainable, but i guess you do it for safety reasons.

Breakfast could have been more diversified. Time to time was missing fork or knife or they run out of one type of bread and did not replace or was hardly left any yoghurt.

Location and a very comfy bed

They ran out of beer in the evening. The bedroom was a little on the small size considering we paid for what I thought was going to be a large bedroom. No decaffeinated drinks in the room.

Incompetence of the highest order!

Even though I paid for the room through booking.com, they said that they did not have an available room and had problems with the cleaning company, that's why there was no room with clean sheets. The staff behaved very badly and harshly. They didn't want to refund the money and asked us to cancel a non-refundable reservation! In one word, it was a "terrible" experience. They made us wait in the hotel lobby for more than 1 hour and didn't even apologize for it. This is no way to treat a customer. I would just leave the place if I could cancel the booking. Unfortunately this was a last minute reservation. They could very well close the reservations if they had issues, but no, reservations were still possible even after several hours. I fail to understand the reason behind it. On top of that, the two female receptionists kept giving us the long face like it was our fault! Lack of interpersonal skills. That's how I define it. This is just another average hotel, if they do not know how to treat people why would I visit this place again?

Overall it was a nice, modern, comfortable, and clean hotel with a great breakfast!

The breakfast was excellent, however it was so crowded and popular that the staff had to work hard to keep the buffet stocked.

The elevators are too small compared to what we are used to in America, and there was always a line of people waiting. We were happy to be on the next level of the hotel and used the stairs throughout our stay including when checking out. We caried our luggage down the stairs. The cost of the parking garage was too high, but we used it for convenience.

Free breakfast was nice

We asked for five beds since we were five people, but we got one queen bed for two of us. When I asked if there was a possibility to switch to a room with separate beds (like we had requested) they said that none were available. So I asked if i could have an extra duvet so I didnt have to share, they said that there were none available, which i doubt... since it it a hotel.

The foyer was welcoming, will lit and a sense of occasion unlike some others in the city. The room was easy clean and quiet, and a good view of the city.

The walk from the railway station in the heavy rain was more than 10 minutes.

Maike on reception was excellent. She was on her own when we checked in and was very efficient. She was very helpful when I had an issue with lost property as she reported it for me.

At times it was difficult to be served at the bar, staff were over worked trying do everything.

Waste of money.

There was no internet upstairs in my room on the 13th floor throughout my stay, I had to keep going downstairs by the reception area to make or receive calls, which was so annoying. Kitchen staff also very rude and unprofessional during breakfast.

Good central location in Kiel. Great parking spots right across from the hotel (Exerzierplatz), unless it is market day. The place is clean.

The elevators are very slow. We constantly had to take the stairs, because we had to wait way too long for the elevators. Doesn't matter that much, when you stay on one of the lower levels, but very anoying if you are higher up. Often very busy during breakfast and the hotel doesn't seem to be staffed or equipped for such a demand. Especially in summer when a lot of cruise ships are leaving from Kiel. Rooms are fairly small.

Excellent breakfast

The room was very narrow so there was very little room for a chair between the end of the bed and very narrow shelf that served as a disk. So it was difficult to do any work on my computer in the room. There was also something peculiar that prevented me from entering my name and room number in order to log in to the internet
