Perfect for a week in Kuta

Everything was perfect! The pool area, the food and very comfortable beds. Close to all the shops and restaurants and bars and beach.

Disappointed with construction, but nice property.

The location was awesome.

The resort had construction on rooms while we were there(a lot of noise and dust) and it should be policy from either booking.com or the Motel/ resort that they let you know that this is happening during your stay, because I never would of booked. We go to Bali to relax, but this trip wasn't a good one for our family. Handy hint if your going to pay big dollars to stay somewhere nice, message them before you book to see if they have construction happening.

Beachfront, squirrels, clean and comfortable

Location was right on the beach, restaurants out the front and part of hotel, room was clean and very roomy, balcony overlooking the squirrel tree, air con cool and showers took a little bit to heat up but was good once it did, near to shopping centre if desired and easy to get a pick up and drop off with taxi, or grab. Swimming pool clean and nice to hang out at but only open until 7pm, rooms cleaned daily if you want

Good location to shopping poppies lane and mall. Staff where great, our little one come down sick and they rushed us to hospital no questions asked. Staff are super friendly and accommodating

The property’s location is in the heart of Kuta beach and one can easily enjoy the beach. The concept stayed true to the Indonesian culture which we were hoping for instead of the modern design of other resorts. The rooms and facilities were exceptional and the staff were very friendly and accommodation. One of their restaurants also offer the cheapest but delicious food we have seen so far in the area.

great stay, great hotel, location can't be better!

Check-in was smooth. I spent one night in a room where the air conditioning didn’t work, but the problem was resolved quickly. I was moved to another room, and everything worked perfectly there. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. Two thumbs up for that.

a little advice, just make sure everything works before using the room. sometimes the water does not smell fresh, there is a hint of rotten egg smell in the first few seconds when you open the tap, but later the smell is gone. but i guess it is a common problem if a hotel use a water tank/reservation system. perhaps the maintenance and cleaning should be done more often.

Front desk and Spa staff has no costomer service at all

The hotel is beautiful, with spacious rooms and balconies. However, the air-conditioning unit is only 12,000 BTU, which is not large enough to properly cool the room. As a result, it is constantly running at maximum capacity and the thermostat never reaches the set temperature. Additionally, if you leave the bathroom extractor fan on—even with the door closed—the room will not cool at all; it took us a full day to figure this out. Housekeeping prepared a special decoration for our arrival, and every day they left an elephant, a praying figure, or a monkey made out of towels. The room was consistently cleaned and well presented. The security staff, although they did not speak English, always approached me with courtesy and kindness. Both departments delivered exceptional service

During our check-in, the front desk agent was rude. She handed me only one key even after I explained that my wife would be staying in the room for several days while I would be going in and out. Later that night, I asked the receptionist, Vian, about the Galungan celebration on the 19th, since we were interested in learning more about the local culture. His response was, “There is nothing for you to see, it is a local celebration, not for tourists.” His tone was rude and dismissive. At the St. Kitts Marriott, where I work, we would never address a guest in that manner. We also made a reservation with him for a massage the following day at 12:00 p.m. He filled out a form and instructed us to be on time. The next day, we arrived at the spa and found it closed for renovations. When we returned to reception, the same receptionist told us the spa was closed and that we should go to room 419 instead. I asked why he hadn’t informed us the day before when we made the reservation. He said the spa had been closed for a long time and that they only use room 419. We arrived at room 419 exactly at 12:00 p.m. and knocked. A young lady opened the door and asked us to wait five minutes outside. We waited three minutes in the heat and humidity. Then another staff member came out and told us we needed to wait an additional ten minutes. I asked why we needed to wait outside again, under this heat, simply because they were not prepared. Why ask guests to make an appointment in advance if they will not be ready at the scheduled time? I told her to cancel the service because I was not going to wait any longer. She then asked, “And the bill?” I responded that there was no bill to pay because no service had been provided—due to their lack of preparation. The reception and spa staff are a complete disaster; they need proper training on how to treat guests. We are not there to bother them—we are on vacation. They should learn from this quote: “There is only one boss: the customer.

Great location near the beach. Staff were excellent, very helpful. Rooms were comfortable and roomy with aircon, fridge and kettle. Nice extras like bathrobe, slippers and umbrella.

Disappointed it didn’t have a gym. Renovations happening and a bit noisy due to work being carried out.

Sunsets and surfers

Location - opposite Kuta beach which is good for watching the surfers and sunsets. A short stroll away from the Beachwalk mall where there are lots of designer label products for sale. Well laid out resort-type property with lots of green space. Good choice of restaurants on-site.

The hotel is easy to find, with polite and friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable, and the balcony was lovely. I had food there—it wasn’t great, but not too bad. Overall, a nice hotel to stay at.

The bathroom in spa facilities could be improved. I noticed black mould on the shower curtain, door, and walls, which made me feel uncomfortable using the shower before my massage. Regarding the massage, the therapist’s hands felt rough, like sandpaper, but the pressure applied during the massage was good.

The Property grounds were very clean and the staff were awesome always very friendly.

The beds are hard and the rooms are tired. They could do with a coat of paint and some new fixtures. They could definitely do a happy hour around the pool in the afternoon with beer. A Bintang is seven dollars.

The room was quite dated, the air-conditioning was very loud, and there was lots of noises of furniture moving all night. The bed was way too firm, the Tv was tiny. The fact that all the lights had to be on or off. And the bathroom.was very dated. When we went to swim in the pool, there was limited seating

Beautiful Bali Charm right in the heart of everything! Such a reasonable price for such a well kept grounds! We loved the buffet at the restaurant! We are there all nights as it accommodated our entire large group! It was small enough that it wasn’t over crowded but big enough to have great facilities!

I’d recommend this hotel to my friends. Good value for money, very clean, comfortable beds and fabulous location.

Grand Istana is in a great location - beach across the road, Beach Walk shopping Mall couple minutes walk, can walk to many other restaurants, although there is a choice of three at Grand and walking distance to many stalls selling pretty much whatever you can think of! the hotel is very clean. There was a guy whose sole job appeared to be keeping the main foyers tiles shiny. The gardens and pool are kept in immaculate condition and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. It’s when you leave the resort things get sketchy!
