Comfortable stay in Deeside

The young man who greeted us at reception did all he could to please us & make sure we were comfortable. Also, the food was very good

Our bedroom was cold when we arrived but the young man at reception soon had it warm for us and even gave us an extra room key so it could warm up whilst we ate dinner.

Very restful stay and we chose to upgrade to a feature room which was more spacious and comfortable.

Beautiful historic and reasonably well maintained. The staff are well trained and very helpful and professional. It was decorated for Christmas so it was lovely. The food is always good and the choices are generous although the menu is limited. The breakfast was very nice and plentiful and was included in the price of the room.

The drinks are really expensive.

Slightly underwelming.

Room was clean and fairly spacious. Had a bath and a shower. Reception areas are attractive. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Tried to run a bath but the water ran tepid very quickly. I ended up boiling several kettles of water to get it to a reasonable temperature. There was a clothes moth on the wall when I went into the room. The food was OK - I appreciate catering for a group is not easy (class reunion), but the breakfast was underwhelming too. I was charged extra for eggs Benedict which turned up with 2 tepid and solidified eggs and ham that was still very cold from the fridge.

Aesthetically the facility is stunning, inside and out and the staff were very pleasant. The general aura of the Hall was delightful and it was a pleasure, and a very wallet friendly one at that. There will definitely be a return.

If I might offer a gentle negative, I did think the cost of the food in the restaurant during the evening was a little north of friendly. However, if the standard of breakfast was aligned with food in the evening, it’s probably worth that little extra money.

We always enjoy a stay in this hotel but some attention to the decor is needed.on the whole it is a comfortable hotel.

Lovely historic house well maintained and run. The staff are friendly and professional. Dinner was excellent though the drinks are a bit on the pricey side. The breakfast the following morning was lovely and plentiful.

Our room was rather drab and the carpet had some stains. The bathroom was spacious and really clean. We had an easy access room which had a bath and shower. I have mobility issues but I could neither have a bath or shower as there was a step to get into the shower. The kettle was disgusting but was changed. Our room was very cold and took quite a long time to warm up.

Beautiful outside but shocking inside .

My son had cut his 2 fingers open on a radiator in a room and the first aider knew what she was doing and came up to assist efficiently.

The bed was uncomfortable and felt like I was sleeping on springs . The room next door to mine had people shouting , swearing , throwing things and a lot of banging against the wall at 1:30am while I was trying to get my son to sleep after the wedding ! Me and my son were not finished with our puddings and we were told to leave the room so they could change the hall over and set the DJ etc up . I don't find that fair considering our table was the last one served for all 3 meals. I had the kids menu . The garlic bread was rock solid I couldn't eat it . If I had a bite it would hurt my teeth . The chips with the main meal were so salty that we couldn't eat them . Wasn't offered any tea or coffee at the end either . Breakfast the following morning was cold . I ordered a fried egg with my cooked breakfast and received a pouched egg .

Super stay in a lovely hotel

Large comfy rooms, really comfortable beds, excellent food( small range on menu) but quality excellent, great breakfasts, and really nice, friendly and helpful staff. A large country house hotel set in its own grounds, and away from the noise and bustle of the city, byt only 10 mins in the car to the centre.

Reception and old part of the property was quite impressive

Staff was not helpful at all. Reception did not make us feel welcome. He sort of direct us to our room, which was a maize Wi-fi connection was very poor. I mentioned it to one of the staff members in order to assist - his comment as “I have a connection” and walked away

Norwood Hall Hotel in London for Aberdeen, Our Overnight Stay..

Booked and got free upgrade via Booking.com + free breakfast as well (Genius Member). Had our dog Rosie with us and often means lower quality of room at other hotels. Not at this hotel, good location, brilliant sized room & amenities. Almost forget excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Finally the location for our trip was good. As was the location for Rosie & myself early morning walk (6.30am'ish). 5 minute walk onto the cycle/ walkway that used to be the Aberdeen to. Ballater railway line.... Photo's of this part are attached......

Minor thing, but could live with it for our one night stay. The function room had an event on into early hours. Maybe the next round of hotel upgrades includes newer noise reduction windows. But as mentioned above, we coped for our one night stay.

Delayed very much at check-in almost spent 25 minutes to get the keys

The rooms on the floor I was in was very dated. The mattress is not fit for people and is bare to the springs. The bed looked clean but I felt the bedding has been on for weeks. Room did not feel clean as I found stuff in the bin and hair in the showers. Offered a new room but pretty much the same. That floor is quite old and I feel the rooms should not be sold till the mattresses are changed

Good price for a short stay

Overall a great experience with friendly staff and a nice restaurant. The atmosphere of the hotel was also very enjoyable. We found the price to be reasonable considering the time of year we went (during graduation season) and the distance to get to city centre - would definitely need to drive though.

Judging by the pictures, it must be an old hotel. However, somethings could do with an upgrade, for example, the furnishing in the bedrooms. Although we did not need to use it but the wardrobe door in our room was poorly maintained.

Sorry to say, massive disappointment, never again

The scene was set when we arrived to the room and the window was open from the bottom disguised by the see through curtain. Why is this an issue? We booked a room with a 9 month year old who crawls everywhere - god knows what house keeping we’re thinking leaving that window open… especially as the broken cot was next to this potential dangerous fall. Moving on to the broken cot, it collapsed as my partner moved it nearer to our bed. This resulted in a long evening trying to find a replacement cot and settling our baby. The staff were proactive to help us but again why provide a broken cot that could have potentially injured our baby. The room wasn’t cleaned properly dust above the bed, cobwebs above door ledges and dog treats under the sofa. The food was alright but breakfast was poor, no pastries and poorly cooked eggs/sausages - we’ve had better breakfasts at the Premier inn. Overall, to compensate for our struggles we got a bottle of Prosecco, that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to settle your baby. It was meant to be a Date night break away that ended up like “Faulty Towers” - not going back, poor Mr MacDonald would be annoyed with this joke stay.

The hotel's past grandeur is still retained ewith its own library yet it also embraces modern times.

We have stayed twice before which speaks for itself. The rooms are spacious, the staff helpful. well trained and kind, the food good. It has its own ambience in spacious grounds. It retains its country house appearance, very well furnished, including a number of antiques. We are elderly, but the lift makes luggage disposal easy. The corridors are picture-lined and simple to navigate. The weekend is a time for weddings, but apart from numbers at the front door they don't impinge on guests and the kilts add to the attraction. We may go again.

The menu is small and unchanging for a four-day stay.
