Fantastic building garden and exceptional interiors! Breathtaking and unique. Wonderful sense of age to be in rooms that are original and from 1881! It invokes the whole Victorian era. Beautifully maintained! This was our second visit and we will come back without a doubt!

A great interior to the communal areas, very comfortable and clearly of historic importance, the additional rooms lack the same character. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was good, good breakfast, efficient timings on food wait and room service. Bathroom was very clean. Room was pretty quiet even with a big event during the evening.
The fundamental reason I stay in a hotel is to sleep, so I can’t understand why the mattress was so bad, it’s like it hasn’t been changed since the 1980’s.
Also, there were small things missing, such as no complementary water in rooms, nor tea or coffee making facilities. Room safe had no batteries and therefore not working. Room was pretty chilly too, the heating control is an electric rad manually operated. Room had cobwebs. No plug socket by the bed for charging devices. Booked an alarm call, but they failed to call me. Horrible noise from the water system when running showers.
