Location and design are top - could stand to improve a bit

We chose this hotel because of its location in Avenue Louise. We liked the experience overall and the beautiful interior design. Every corner is worthy of its own picture moment. The breakfast area was also impressive.

The towels need to be bigger and fluffier. Providing slippers during the cold season might be a plus. The rooms were decent size, but there wasn't much acoustic isolation from the rest of the floor. You can hear every door creaking or closing. Lastly, the breakfast lacked in options for fresh vegetables or protein. Just scrambled eggs and an almost empty tray of cheeses is not really enough. The coffee machine had stickers on it for items no longer available, but there were also choices that simply served hot water as opposed to the selection (chocolate, in my case). The coffee was very bland .

From the greeting by the front desk it was obvious this was going to be a great stay at the hotel. Very efficient at check in, with all the information we needed. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean.. The beds and bed linen were very comfortable and made for a good nights sleep

First arrival at the reception the receptionist was very flustered, didn’t prepared very well for visitors, I booked and paid for two rooms but on arrival I was told that I only paid for one room when I attempted to clarify that the information was incorrect she still did not check the system to clarify, I feel as if I was just dismissed without a second thought. I was then told that I had to pay €50 for any damage that may occurred in the room, this I could understand, but I was told that I could only make payment using a credit card. Not everyone has a credit card, this should be taken into account. I was lucky to have accidentally added my credit card to my Apple Pay a few days before my travel as I do not normally use my credit card on Apple pay. The whole thing was a nightmare from start to finish, before completing the check in we were told to sit and wait while she book in other guest who arrived after us. Only after all the other guest were checked in we were seen. My granddaughter was very tired and hungry, the trip was to celebrate my birthday, but everyone was so upset and distraught by the whole booking in saga, something that should have been straightforward turn into a nightmare. My friend who booked separately was being told to go and sit down as if she was a child. It takes much too long to check in because staff did not take the time to check the information on the system. They clearly was not prepared for our visit and not enough staff to cover or provide back up. Staff trying to deal with everyone at the same time rather than dealing with with one person at a time, guest jumping the queue and discussing lost keys. It was a total shambles. As much as the facilities and the hotel was nice the quality of the reception service was poor. This put a total damper on my birthday celebrations. We all went to bed hungry and upset. Check in takes too long which did not leave us much time or energy to look for something to eat as it was now too late.

I strongly recommend.

The room was luxurious, very light with a nice view. All the staff were super friendly. I found the area safe and relaxing, with parks and sculptures nearby. The tram stops a few feet from the hotel entrance, a quick ride into the city and connect by Metro (3 short stops) with the Gare du Midi/ Zuid (Eurostar). There is beautiful architecture, art museums and more. I found that the people of Brussels were very happy to guide me in the right direction, and with a smile. I will definitely stay at Hotel Barsey by Warwick again.

The staff makes it all.

The staff and especially the front office manager really went out of their comfort zone to make their guests' stay beautiful.

There were issues with Air conditioning...but the staff and management truly made that displeasure go away by their amazing service.

Super location and good value for money

Excellent location if you want to explore the south side of the city and the large nearby park. We traveled with our dog, it has good options for giving him a walk. It was our second time staying there, the room was nice and spacious. The manager was very kind and went out of his way to help us.

At check in you can add breakfast for a reasonable price, but not the morning of. The room (10th floor) gets a lot of sun (nice!) but became quite warm with limited AC.

Disappointing

I felt very uncomfortable at this hotel and it was like sleeping in a dusty museum. The furniture is very old and definitely hasn’t been renovated in the last 10 years. The carpet looked old und unhygienic, where the walls had marks and scratches. A budget hotel would have been a better option in all possible ways!

Brussels stay

Staff looked after us very well as I had arrived early in Brussels I requested if possible to come earlier to hotel no gaurantee if it would be possible but when we got there was put at ease n checked in early very good service

Only request was to improve the shower door as it was too high n water was leaking onto floor so I suggested a few improvements to Elena the receptionist who will convey my suggestions 😁
