Not what we expect.

That it was near the center.

We first check in our room and we notice that it wasnt perfect clean there was shoes print in the shower, drops arround the toilet, a Black mark at the bed, so my husband decide to change room. In the second room bed was clean and the bathroom was OK...but the Main door was with a problem our card didnt work so we have to go down in a reception to ask to fix it and off course the shower if you stay more that 5 minutes its floating with the water, its not going down. So yes it was dissappointing for a hotel to pay 150€ per night and not be able to enjoy a shower.

Location is great and room is spacious. The bed was comfortable.

The receptionist gave me a quieter spot in the restaurant as it was super busy and loud. The bed was super comfortable.

Ok stay for a night. It said soundproof when I booked the room whereas it clearly wasn't. Take your earplugs with you because you will clearly need it. You hear everything happening in the street. The room could have used a bit more cleaning. There was dust and a fake rose petal under my bed. It strongly smelled of perfume in the corridor leading to my room and a bit in my room too. The heater didnt really heat, I was quite cold but there sre extra blankets if needed.

Very central location, therefore parking can be nightmare

Very central location (but at a price)

Very central location, but considering that the very narrow, bicycle-lined, one-way streets made navigating a car in the dark and rain to the pre-booked parking facility (on Jansdam, a mere 500 metres away by foot), a real nightmare. There were several places where road construction made passage impossible, resulting in my SatNav/GPS becoming unusable. Even Apple Maps and Google Maps on my phone were of no help. Now, two days later, Google Maps reveals that the car route is a 19-minute, 5.3km maze through the old city! See attached screen captures. After one hour and 10 minutes on that arrival evening, my wife and I gave up and returned to the hotel. The friendly receptionist then issued us a parking permit for "an available space somewhere along the street, if we could find one". After 15 more minutes, we did find one, 450 metres away on Zuilenstraat. Parking took a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Not a nice way to start the hotel stay.

When I book an expensive hotel I expect to actually stay in it not a cellar 200 yards down the street and under a road also had to park the car and take luggage halfway across the city in the rain

It was very nice with you, we would love to come back.

The hotel has a very good location in the city of Utrecht, and everything was within easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The room was very clean and nicely furnished, although the dark blue color made it very dark. But that's a matter of taste. The breakfast was adequate, but simple.

The beds were very soft. Sometimes it was a little bit loud during the nights.

Centrally located hotel

Overall, it’s a nicely decorated hotel, good breakfast buffet, and well located close to the Dom.

After having paid at check in, we learned that the lift was out of service. My friend who had a back operation 1 month ago, had to climb 4 floors as we couldn’t be relocated conveniently!! The WC didn’t flush properly, the toilet paper was of very bad quality, the mattresses were really soft. The parking was far away. This was definitely not worth 225 euros a night!!

Perfect location and great people at the desk.

It was so clean and had all the amenities I needed. It was also very central and the cathedral was a 3 minute walk (perfect location). The people at the front were very nice and were able to give me recommendations for dinner.

The entrance to the hotel is in need of updating. There were signs that this may be about to happen but during our stay the steps we not cleaned once leading to a general littering of the area. This is a shame as it gives the wrong impression of the inside of the hotel.

Great location and charming room!

We loved this little "cave" by the canal! We loved the privacy, having chairs and a table provided so we could sit outside by the canal, and it was also so cozy! This was really a suite, with a separate sitting area inside (in addition to the outside seating). The location was perfect, as we could walk to museums, restaurants, and just explore Utrecht.

Great value hotel with an amazing location

Great location, phone-based room lock is convenient, rooms are clean and conveniently sized. You get 2 different pillows to choose from. (a softer and a harder one)

Even though there is an ironing board in the room, it is quite small and difficult to use for shirts. Steam iron needs to be requested from reception, however the one I got was broken.

Loved it, a bit quirky, very special.

I loved being by the canal even though I didn’t realise that I had booked this room! So a nice surprise. The room was clean and the bed really comfortable. good facilities and surprisingly good shower. Staff were extremely nice. I opted for no room cleaning service throughout my stay, so the hotel chain could plant trees instead.

The weekend was busy and noisy above and by me. The rooms are not very sound proof to cars driving over regularly or peoples voices. Having said that, I did get used to it. The room is a small road away from the main hotel, so for breakfast it would have been necessary to get out to there.More hotels should offer this!

Room was comfortable

I arrived at the hotel to discover that major renovation work was taking place. There was no restaurant or bar as they were closed for this work. If l wanted breakfast l could only have it in my room. As l was travelling solo and staying only for one night l had intended dining in the hotel and relaxing there. At no point during my booking was l made aware that this renovation would be taking place otherwise l would have booked a different hotel. l chose this hotel because l have stayed here in the past and it was an ideal hotel to stay in. Unfortunately this time my stay was very uncomfortable. Staff were excellent but they were also having to deal with a very difficult situation. In my opinion the hotel should have been closed temporarily for renovation.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great.

The spoons in the room were dirty. The toilet paper holder was loose. The toilet brush still had the remains of the previous one on it. When we asked for it to be cleaned, it was removed and we were not given a new one. Breakfast looked good, but there were flies and fruit flies on the sausage, bread and salads. Lovely, comfortable room in a great location for access to the city.

Only issue for me was the noise. The room wasn't very well sound proofed and there was loud noise from inside the hotel and outside most of the night. Not the best sleep!
