Apartment Matterhorn - GRIWA RENT AG

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They even provided a detailed guide with useful information and instructions before our arrival, which made everything very smooth. The apartment is in an excellent location, just a 6-minute downhill walk from Grindelwald train station. It's also close to the main shopping street and the Coop supermarket (probably the largest supermarket you'll find in a small mountain town like Grindelwald). The view from the balcony is absolutely fantastic, with the iconic Eiger right in front of you. I would especially recommend this apartment to anyone interested in timelapse or astrophotography, as the balcony offers an amazing vantage point. To be honest, I think the current Booking.com score significantly underestimates the quality of this apartment. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

The only drawback I can think of is the temperature during the summer. The apartment doesn't have air conditioning, which is quite common in Switzerland. During hot weather, you'll need to pay attention to ventilating the apartment at night and keeping the sunlight out during the day. The balcony is equipped with an awning, which helps, but it would be even better if the living room windows also had exterior blinds or shutters to reduce the heat. That said, to be fair, Switzerland experienced an unusually intense heat wave during our stay. I don't think this reflects what a typical summer in Grindelwald is like, so I wouldn't consider it a major issue under normal conditions.

The location couldn’t be better and the view from the apartment is just spectacular! It has five-star appliances, great heating and sound-proof bedrooms. The staff that manages the property is always available and very friendly, just like a hotel concierge. It is close to the supermarket and shops, and a plus is the parking included. Fantastic!
