Good stay!

Very costly n quiet. Loved the stay and perfect for a big group

It was a bit hard to find and since it was New Year’s Eve, we stayed for 3nights and 4 days for which only 2 dishwasher capsules were given.

A great place to stay, Easy to recommend 10 Swan House to others, Lords Seat.

The location is quiet with easy walks to Bassenthwaite lake and more challenging walks up Whinlatter right on the doorstep. Bike trails at Whinlatter within riding distance if you don't mind steep uphill road, 5mins in car if you do. Only 5mins in car to Keswick where the shops are. Plenty of busses passing by with a stop right outside. Great views over Skiddaw from the rooms and garden. Easy parking. We did manage to lock ourselves out not being used to the Yale lock system! The host had replacement keys in the key safe within 2hrs. (May have been quicker? we were out for dinner 2hrs and they were there on our return). There are 2 sets of keys, my advice would be to leave one set in the key safe at all times :) Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Had 2 great meals at Ivy House in Braithwaite just 2 miles away, and used the local shop there too.

One thing we found odd was that there were only 3 towel sets provided, One per room. So if 6 of you were staying then each couple would have to share towels. More towels were available for a £5 fee? Everywhere else I have ever stayed towels were provided per person not per room? It seems trivial but I am going to mention it as it is easily resolved and would make a difference. The fridge & freezer door as well as the tumble dryer door could really do with swapping over the way they hinge. It is only a 20min job and would make them both so much easier to use. The fridge is particularly awkward as it is.

A good place to meet up with the family. Lots of local interest spots.

Well equipped. Good parking. Lots of little touches to make the stay more enjoyable e.g. bottle of wine, local cake, binoculars, books on the area.

The glasses provided were very nice but we were advised not to put them in the dishwasher so we had quite a bit of what I consider unnecessary hand-washing

The property had everything that you could possibly need. Wished that we were staying longer.

We liked everything. You do need transport to get around but the bus stop is opposite the cottages and buses seemed to run quite late.

Excellent well furnished accomodation

Excellent location 3 miles from Keswick, making a great base for walking the mountains around Keswick and Buttermere. The appartment has beautiful views of Skiddaw from Lounge and Bedroom windows and is very well equiped
