Filthy and nothing like described

First room we were given smelt of smoke and damp the bathroom was not clean and the toilet leaked. We were given another room on the top floor which you could tell were newer rooms and a lot better. They seem to get some things right with the TV and new bathroom but then certain things like the sink could have been cleaner and so could the tiles on the shower. The tea/coffee station wasn’t clean and the lamp on the bedside table the bulb was covered in dust and didn’t even work. Guests trying to get into room at 4 in the morning obviously had wrong number made so much noise and then fire alarm went off early Saturday morning!!

Extremely noisy. Fire alarm went off without prior notice at 8.15am. Room needed a proper clean. Shower was mouldy and needs a makeover. Needed new larger/ thicker duvet.

The reception was like a student accommodation lobby and hallways were tired, the only way up to reception was in a small lift. I was called to pay before I arrived which was uncomfortable.

Location is great and the reception lady was excellent but sadly that’s where “likes” end.

The lift is extremely rickety, first red flag but didn’t think too much about it. After being checked in by the helpful receptionist, myself and my wife went to the room and were shocked by the state of the bedding fitted. It was covered in bits of hair and stains, it was supposed to be white but was more grey/yellow. Contacted reception who brought a new set, this was almost as bad. We decided then that we wouldn’t be staying. Headed to reception who initially only offered a 50% refund, but eventually gave us a full refund, despite trying to offer us other ‘upgraded’ rooms.

Moldy bathroom, coffee stains on table, dirty tea spoon, and what was going on with bathroom floor? Price did not match the quality of the room, and customer service could be better.....not surprised why customer before me complained about his room.

My first room was incredibly unclean and dusty. I was moved and the standard was still very poor for the price. Temperature not great and furniture/interiors very tired. I was also woken by the fire alarm at 3:30am and the staff were pretty poor at alerting guests it was not real.

Not easy to find, or park. Reception on the top floor?! Definitely not an executive room. Very grubby and thick with dust everywhere. Floors were so dusty. Shower very mouldy.

The positives were short. The mattress was comfy and the views from the room were ok although our friends in their room had awful views. The water was hot and the room was spacious. But that is it.

This place is very dirty. The headboard had hairs and dust in the grooves. We stupidly looked under the sheet and it was urine stained and there were hairs all over it and even a crisp! The bed was a super king but the duvet didn't even reach each side. The TV was badly tuned and there were no BBC channels at all, ITV1 Channel 4 etc. We had to scour the channels and watch Quest. Ours friends room TV was exactly the same. The shower temp control was broken and it was just spinning. It was quite hot. The floor in the bathroom felt in places like the boards underneath were going to give way. The toilet seat was very loose and moved a lot. It's worth noting there is a power switch for the room (first light switch as you walk in) and nothing will work (TV, lamps, etc.) until you turn this on. Our friends room was all similar and their shower had lots of black mould and they actually decided to not shower and drive home instead to shower. We found the room very cold, and the Aircon unit didn't heat up the room - could have been user error though. The door to the room had HUGE gaps and would not pass fire safety. You could squeeze a pound coin through the gap when the door was closed and locked. See the pic of the door and the light pouring through when trying to sleep. Overall this hotel and the two rooms we had were awful - thank goodness we only booked one night. We won't ever be returning.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and the room is clean and comfortable. It even had air conditioning.

It's a bit noisy as it's on the main square but the location is central so it was worth it for me. It would be even better if there was breakfast!

City centre location so lots to do

The walk from the car park to the hotel wasn’t pleasant with 3 heavy bags!

The property was right in the centre

There was excessive dust in the room. Both woke up stuffy from dust allergies. The beds headboard had dust in every divot, and wafting the duvet resulted in large amounts of visible dust in the air. The top of the minifridge was also layered in dust. The TV didn’t work, with no stable picture even after completing auto tuning. The remote had not back, the batteries were corroded and half of the buttons wouldn’t function properly. The AC was loud and essentially useless. The floorboards outside the bathroom, and the bottom of the bathroom door were rotting due to poor ventilation and the open shower. The soap holder was rusted and grungy. There were scuff marks on the walls and the windows were covered in damp from the condensation.

The room was extremely dirty, with dust and hairs scattered around the room and hairs in the bed. The cups in both the bathroom and at the kettle were dirty. The shower head was absolutely disgusting - covered in mould/build up - and this made it really unpleasant to use (I went without a shower for the day). The room smelt strongly of smoke when I arrived. The air conditioning didn't appear to be working, or didn't appear to be doing anything if it was. I had to open the windows and it was very noisy from the road outside and with people shouting all night. There appeared to be other guests having a party at about 03:00am which woke me up. The corridors to get to the room were also dirty, smelt bad and were generally tired. The 'rooftop bar' was really tired and unpleasant - didn't spend any time there as it also appeared quite dirty.

There was no full length mirror, or one at the vanity table. There was one in a unnatural lighting one based in the bathroom only...bad for us makeup ladies and couldn't use it whilst curling my hair as there was no power source close by.

The hotel was in the main centre of Leicester so very comfortable to go anywhere. The room was spacious and big, the staff was very friendly and available. For this price is a very good choice. I would recommend it.
