We had a lovely time

Very clean small guest house owned by lovely family. Double Room was downstairs with en-suite and all facilities. Excellent breakfast both hot and cold items available. Parking outside the door and on a frequent bus route into the city.

Nice staff , nice bathroom

2nd stay, breakfast was not great. Microwave bacon. Room was very cold, radiator struggled with thin curtains, road noise is a problem, don't like giving poor reviews. Room and furniture very tired unfortunately.

Needs a refresh Breakfast was wierd chap asked us if we wanted bacon and sausage come out with 1 plate with 3 sausages 3 bacon few beans and a side plate of scrambled eggs and two side plates

Fair value with an austere interior impact and no heating

It had parking on site and I had keys to the house.

I was very disappointed with what I found after having read all the wonderful references. The state of the room inside was poor and without heating. The shower worked which is nice so one had warm water. The room was loud with the window opening onto the main road. Traffic stopped after 23:00 hours and restarted after 5. The reviews mentioned wonderful breakfasts which I was looking forward to. It is true that there was a wide selection of prepacked sweet pastries. I, however, have a low sugar diet and mainly savoury taste. I also love fresh bread. My breakfast was poor with a small portion of scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon and baked beans with toast. I was disappointed. Checking out is strictly before 10:00 am.

Room on the front , busy road and curtains could have done with being black out. As we are vegetarians so it would have been nice to have other options boiled eggs for instance. Pillow protector cases could have done with a refresh.

Not suitable as a guesthouse

Nothing with this facility qualifies 4 stars rating. It should be downratet to no star, and may not be suitable for a booking.com listing at all.

This facility is not suitable as a guesthouse. The access is narrow and much to smal for luggage transport. The rooms are all located on top of a steep stair and soundproofing betwween rooms are not existing. Dogs are barking in the backyard and bathroom are much to small. Beds are hard and very uncomfortable. Breakfast closes 8 in the morning and checkout is at 10.

It is a great guest house. Bed was firm and comfortable and the room was clean and big enough for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean, easy to access from the city, room7 is not great...

Breakfast finishing at 0830 on a Sunday morning is actually bonkers. Far too early. Room7. Open the window, just hear taxis going past at 50mph all night. Room was roasting, bed 4" from the headboard and wouldn't move. No toilet in the room, shower door opening was very narrow, anyone above 15st will struggle to get in. The door barely cleaned the end of the bed, had to pull the duvet off the bed to get out the door during the night to walk across the hallway (past the front door) to do toilet in the morning. Room7 is not a pleasant experience, would not recommend.

Lovely relaxing stay

The room and the bathroom were very clean and the breakfast was nice and plentiful. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the shared bathroom was large and clean.

Maybe a little dated decor but apart from that it was a great place to stay, the main road at the front was heavy traffic most of the time but nothing could be done about that. but in the rooms at the back it was very quiet.

Exceptional Value for Money

From arrival, to Sunday breakfast and check-out, we felt comfortable and at home. It's a big yes from both of us. We really enjoyed some time away on our 34th wedding anniversary. Much appreciated.

One to watch, and this is often overlooked. Ventilation extractor needs an overdue spring clean. Other than that, great hosts, reasonable full English cooked breakfast, cereal, good choice of juices, toast, fresh fruit, pastries and yoghurt. All good, nothing we didn't like.

Friendly, clean, comfortable. Easy, secure access. Breakfast available reasonably early, from 7.00. Checkout could not be easier. Sensibly priced.

Located on a busy main road, inevitably a bit noisy. Ear plugs recommended if you are a light sleeper. Curtains could be thicker, unfortunately one of the street lamps across the way was flickering visibly all night. Warm night, no air con, opening the window not an option.
