Breakfast was cooked English with hot rolls, continental options, and cereal, etc. There was a fridge, desk and coffee making facilities in the room. The house was 1940s or 1950s with period features and mine had a view across to the park and fireplace with plain white sheets and modern decor. I slept well. I paid £38.25 mid week in March inc breakfast so good value. Shower was large and modern. I had no problem finding on street parking. Place was clean and staff were available by messaging in the evening to resolve minor issues I had.

I would stay again so not much I didn’t like. I’m allergic to cats so fortunately I had antihistamines with me as there was a very beautiful cat around. Make sure you read emails before arriving as you’ll need the one which has instructions to find the property with key code and house number as it’s in a residential area with no SpaBar signage. Having said that I rang the property and got an immediate answer and directions and just rang the doorbell to get in so it wasn’t a problem, I just should have checked my emails.

The room was clean and tidy and aired. The bed was comfortable too, though it was a hot night so I slept on top of the duvet. There was coffee & tea with a kettle if I wanted a cup, though I would have preferred just a bottle of still water instead. The breakfast provided was sufficient and healthy.

Unfortunately there is only one bathroom, which I needed to use at night, because I have a poor bladder, the bathroom is located in the house and shared. Locking and unlocking the doors was difficult as I was not used to the locking mechanism and nobody showed me how it worked.
