About this apartment rental

This flat works out well for in so many ways!

LOCATION
This 1930s building is in the golden triangle - close to the center of town with its canals and historic old town; but also close to Galeries Lafayette as well as close to Lake Annecy and Le Paquier. You want to stay IN Annecy or you will be needing to drive in heavy summer traffic, while you are able to walk to many places from this location. Another bonus about the location is that the apartment is directly across the street from the large Annecy Saturday morning market. You can walk out your door, pick up lunch and check out all the market vendors.

SPACIOUS
The apt. is on the convenient elevated ground floor. It is spacious, comfortable and correct. The high ceilings, charm and a private terrace are bonuses. The kitchen is modern and well supplied. The bathroom has also been updated as well as the WC. There is a vanity in the WC to help more than one person have sink and mirror access simultaneously. Two bedrooms plus a fold out sofa in the TV room make this a comfortable space for larger groups, but it is also a great base for a couple. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the second bedroom has two singles and the fold out sofa is a full size mattress. There is a portable infant bed, high chair and inflatable child bathtub. Laundry on premises is reserved for two week and longer rentals.

PARKING
Private parking lot directly outside.

Nearest airport: Geneva. Train station: 10 min. walk. Discounts and laundry available for longer stays. Email or call now and you'll receive a prompt, helpful reply. We want to help make your trip a good one!

Annecy: The Old Towne is loaded with charm! Boutiques, designer shops, galleries and cafés line the canals and the walking area near the lake. The pedestrian mall walk culminates at a modern shopping center 'Courier' and theatre complex. The train station is also next door. Grocery stores are in both the Old Towne as well as the Courier mall. All within walking range. Restaurants serve the traditional 'savoyard' dishes as well as classic french — some until the wee hours of the morning. Just minutes from the apartment is beautiful Lac Annecy and Le Paquier, the large park area with train and carousel rides. The Pacquier is host to picnics, soccer matches, events, walks, and benches to just relax and look out at the lake and surrounding mountains. A Galeries Lafayette shopping experience, along with restaurants, post office and other shops, is a two minute walk the other direction. Close to the Old Towne, but just far enough away to feel like you are in a residential 'non-tourist' area. Voila!

Around Annecy: If you plan to stay long enough to do some day trips or have a eurrail pass, the train station is a ten minute walk. There is a TGV 'fast train' to Paris from Annecy. If you arrive by car, a space is provided for parking. If you choose to rent bicycles a locked shed is available for storage or, if you prefer, you may store them carefully in the apt. It's on an elevated ground floor, meaning about 6-7 steps above ground level. If you want to take the bus, the stop is across the street. If you want to do more sightseeing by car, however, you are about an hour from Mt. Blanc, Europe's highest peak, and the Mt. Blanc tunnel which takes you into Italy. Switzerland is 30 minutes north, the French Riviera is about a four hour drive south and the Burgundy wine area is about three hours. Albertville, Chamonix, and Grenoble, all winter Olympic hosts, are all nearby. Geneva, an incredible, historic city, is less than an hour away. Your options are limitless from this excellent location.

Superb location! Walking distance to everywhere! The Saturday Morning Farmer’s Market directly across the street is world class. 10 minute walk to downtown Annecy: grocery stores, laundry, wine shops, boulangerie, charcuterie etc etc. Brief Driving distance to Chateau on Lac Annecy. Chaminix and the Alpes Mont Blanc are near by don’t miss it. Very safe neighborhood with friendly people. It’s a beautiful small city in France! C’est fantastique! The apt is very nice - enjoy! The One parking spot made it perfect for our Tour de France! Downtown Annecy is all one can ask for: great restaurants and shopping along the canals and Lac Annecy.

We had a lovely five nights in beautiful Annecy. Location of this apartment could not have been better, close to the lake and the lovely old town as well as to the station. Plenty of room including two sitting areas and good size bedrooms. Bathroom small but adequate and the toilet is separate which is handy. The kitchen light flickered a bit so we just turned it off as it was giving me a headache but it was well stocked with some handy extras. Beds comfortable and the bedrooms dark so you can get a good sleep. Once you close all the doors the bedrooms are quiet though being on a busy street the lounge room is not so quiet but not an issue. A drummer lives across the street and practises a bit but at reasonable hours and is quite good! Only minor issues I have is that things were turned off upon arrival such as the Wi-Fi and the lamp plugs were out. And the shower curtain needs cleaning it was quite dirty. But just minor ssues as this place overall is excellent and I would return.

5 stars apartment, but read fine print

This apartment is in an excellent location for reaching both the main spots in town and the lake. Arrival instructions are impeccable and checking in is very easy. The bathrooms are nice and appeared to have been recently remodeled, with a toilet and sink that are nicely separate from the rest of the bathroom. Everything was clean and bright and the kitchen appliances worked well. There’s also more space in this flat than you’ll find in many especially at this price. Particular to this apartment, you’ll find kind neighbors and an especially wonderful market across the street on the weekend. Although there is no need for a car to explore town, we did travel there by car and the car spot is so helpful. Karen was easy to work with as we prepared for the trip. There are a few fine print details that worth knowing ahead. The concierge service mentioned in the listing means that packages of sheets are left for you to make your own bed. There’s an uncommon hot water policy (water only heated once overnight); the water was actually quite hot and ample for our group of three, but it means nervously taking showers and not washing dishes by hand in case you’ll need a late shower. That’s ok, but 1-2 dishwasher tabs on hand would be helpful so a guest isn’t buying a whole package. The flat would be improved significantly if the washer and dryer on the VRBO amenities listing were available to all guests regardless of length of stay. Finally, most of the departure instructions reflect what a good guest should be doing anyway, but this is the first time I’ve seen a request to sweep/mop when I’ve paid a cleaning fee. None of these detract from the charm or location of the flat, but are different enough from the 20 or so places we’ve stayed in the past that they’re worth mentioning as you plan.

Urban experience, close to the lake & old town, very comfortable apt with everything you need!
Urban experience, close to the lake & old town, very comfortable apt with everything you need!
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers) enjoyed our stay our 8 day stay so much. This apartment is definitely very comfortable by american standards (european apartments can be very tiny). The owners have thought of everything travelers might possibly need. The kitchen was great--basic spices and foil, dishwasher tabs, sugar, tupperware for storage...things a real family traveling would find helpful. This was truly a huge perk along with the lovely welcome basket of goodies that got us started on our first day there until we could get to the store. It was very hot when we were there in June but we opened windows at night, closed everything up during the day, used the several fans and we were fine. Location is walkable to lake, old town, grocery, bakeries, shopping. We also enjoyed having a car to explore the villages along the lake and although there is a parking permit available for the apt lot, there are only a few spaces in the first place so during the busy summer month we visited, only one tricky spot was available each day so we chose to park in the free parking lot across the street--so easy (just cannot park there Fri night/Saturday because of the market). Note: You definitely do not need a car to stay here but having one just opens up more possibilities for longer stays (we visited Chamonix one day). Markets--the old town ones are great but on our last day, we went to the market literally across the street and it was fantastic! Not as busy as the old town one (which was very narrow streets crowded with tourists...us included). We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we decide to have another city experience vs staying in a quieter area in a village--both would be great just different experiences. Owner was so great to work with--always available to help with anything needed. For us, having a washer would have been helpful (we were in the middle of a longer trip before and after) but easy to access the laundry service across the street or a self service laundromat a little further away (I was able to walk there with our loads in duffles). Having a separate wc (toilet room) from the shower is great with multiple people in your party. Wish we would have been able to enjoy the patio a little more but summer road traffic was pretty intense most of the days. We loved Annecy and this very comfortable, convenient apartment!!
