Holiday at oldway apartment 🙂

The apartment was nice and cosy, wth everything in we needed, had a nice big garden at the back, and not to far off the beach and town centre, we all had a lovely time 🙂

The laminate floors made quite a noise stepping on them, street parking across from apartment and parking on laura grove near by where good, but the downstairs resident parking his car on driveway so I could not have used the garage at the back wthout having to ask him to move his car was not ideal,

Lovely apartment, and we would happily stay again :)

The property was in a great location, was quiet and very tidy. The kitchen was very well appointed and we had everything we needed to cook for the days we were there :) they also left a lovely treat of a cream tea, milk and bread to start us off. MUCH appreciated, such a nice gesture :)

This isn’t a dislike, rather an FYI for future guests. If you are a couple, who wish to share a bed, the double bed is in the small room and is awkward to get in and out of as the room is quite small. The main bedroom, which is lovely, has twin beds rather than a double. We pushed them together and zipped the mattresses together which was SO much better, and was a nice big comfortable bed for the week. We did need to borrow a king size sheet for the bed from my sister who lives locally to fit on the mattresses when joined together into a double bed…. so might be worth bringing a big sheet with you if you’d like to share a bed in the bigger of the two rooms :)

Pleasant

Very clean apartment and good value for money. The owners have made a file providing useful information about the amenities and the area for the guests and there was a welcome pack when we arrived.

The advertising does not (currently) state that the apartment is on the first floor of a house with a (steep) staircase leading to the accommodation, which for somebody with mobility problems is not a good surprise. Upon arrival, the only key box in sight belongs to the neighbour property and the one for the accommodation is placed hidden around the corner. The garage is closed and the bins are parked in front of it, rendering it unusable, so why mention a garage in the advertising? The neighbours knocked on the door to complain that the news program we were watching on TV was too loud, so we were very careful after that. It was lucky that we were only 2 people as there was not enough bedding on the beds so we used the bedding from the second bedroom on top of the bedding which was provided. The first night was very cold as the heating was set to low and it took us till the next day to discover how to adjust it. When I called for help I got the distinct feeling that I was being a nuisance. All in all, could be better and if everything is addressed, it could be a great place to stay.

Shelves in back bedroom a bit of a hazard. TV reception a bit flakey at times. Would benefit from hooks on the back of doors. Had to buy detergent capsules for washing machine. Advertised with parking although driveway not easy to negotiate due to sharing with downstairs apartment
