- Nice & spacious industrial designed rooms - Cool roof top with a small pool to cool down. - Pool area was not busy at all, we had it all to our selves.

Gorgeous, design-led hotel in central Cape Town

We found the Gorgeous George to have the best design aesthetic of all the hotels we looked for. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the rooms spacious and had everything we needed. The rooftop bar is an amazing space.

Higher rooms can be a bit noisy as the bar is open late - it wasn’t a problem for us but worth checking for lower rooms if you are a light / early sleeper.

Incredible from start to finish - the room was luxury, mini bar reasonable, location perfect and all staff really helpful

Quirky, charming with a delightful attitude and design ethos stirred in for good measure.

The Gorgeous George is delightful with lashings of attitude and exuberance and wonderful design everywhere you look. That also pretty much summed up the team who looked after our every whim seamlessly. The rooftop restaurant and bar (gigi) are unignorable and it was quite hard to drag ourselves away. The pedestrian street, St George's Mall is really lovely to take a stroll if you need a stretch.

Gorgeous George OUTSTANDING

The staff are incredibly good at their jobs. Booking tours, giving us extra scones at breakfast, giving us the world's best welcome drink, and giving smiles away for free. We experienced the best breakfasts that we have ever had in accommodation in our entire lives. The GG's rooftop is insanely beautiful, and the decor has a point of difference. The location is close to outstanding restaurants, and a melting pot of diversity.

A beautiful escape in the heart of the city

Gorgeous George Hotel truly lives up to its name.Gorgeous in every way! The location is perfect, the staff are incredibly friendly, and it’s definitely a place I’d love to return to. The room exceeded expectations; it matched the photos in both style and elegance. I was especially impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to offer a wider variety at breakfast. But aside from that, I genuinely can’t wait to come back!

It really is gorgeous.

It is close to the ‘action’ including hop on hop off bus tours and rental cars. Interesting neighbourhood but completely manageable. Staff were very helpful without being over the top. Food is ‘gorgeous’ it really is, avo on toast for breakfast outstanding!

Superb experience with comfortable rooms, friendly and accommodating staff.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. From valet who parks your car, to the front desk greeting you, to the Gigi restaurant staff - everyone is accommodating and very friendly, making your stay enjoyable and memorable experience. The room is exceptionally clean, with wooden floors, comfortable bedding, modern finishings, and with everything that I needed for my stay. I loved the design and feel of the place and the room. They were flexible enough to accommodate my slightly late check-out because I had a meeting nearby finishing at 12 pm. As I had an early morning meeting, Chloe from Gigi restaurant organised an early breakfast for me. The waiter Timichi sets a positive vibe to the place.

The surrounding area might be a bit off-putting, but I felt fairly safe.

My stay was at The Gorgeous George was everything that I expected it to be. Thank you!!!

My spouse and I missed breakfast the majority of our stay…just couldn’t get up. However, the one morning that we happened to drag ourselves out of bed and down to breakfast, it was truly spectacular!!! The food was nothing short of AMAZING and the staff brought it all to life!!!

Don’t have any complaints. In fac, I am already in the process of making plans to for my return next year.

Gorgeous George truly lives up to its name.

My goodness the pictures on Booking.com do not do this hotel justice! It truly lives up to its name. Gorgeous. Stunning. Jaw-dropping. When we saw the photos, we expected cozy rooms. When we stepped in, we got loft-like ceilings, spacious bedroom, large windows letting in plenty of sunlight, and a clean bathroom with excellent water pressure (be careful letting loose with those tabs because the water pressure is high). Hotel staff were so friendly during out entire stay. From warm greetings to excellent tips, we felt warmly welcomed and cared for. Service was also quite prompt from check-in to getting our luggage in our room. Morning cleaning was super efficient (done by the time we returned from breakfast) and turndown service was a lovely touch. Gig's rooftop restaurant and bar was a fantastic addition. Great for morning brunch or afternoon drinks. The rooftop also gets DOWN with guest DJs during the evenings.

There's really nothing to nitpick. Considering the cost per night, location, amenities, staff services, etc., this is a fantastic hotel. Whenever I return to Cape Town, Gorgeous George is going to be my go-to hotel.

An exceptional hotel in a central location and with excellent facilities. The staff were amazing, attentive and always available. The food at Gigi’s was delicious- the breakfast is definitely worth adding to your room booking. The rooms are really spacious, the beds are comfy and everything is super stylish.
