There is no other experience like staying at a Taj property, and the Cape Town hotel did not disappoint. This was my first Taj stay outside of India and overall it was a fantastic experience. The facilities are top-notch, we did not even want to leave the hotel because it was so comfortable and enjoyable.
Sadly, compared to their Indian properties, the service was nowhere near the level of excellence as in other Taj stays. Long waits at the restaurant, a general unfriendly attitude among the staff … it was all a bit of a shock. I wish the Indian team could come in and do an intervention! One exception was the staff at the spa, lovely and very kind.

The Taj is an excellent base for a short stay in Cape Town, centrally located and with excellent facilities. It exudes an Old World feel. Our suite was spacious, clean and well appointed. A fantastic end to our South African travels.
