    Perfect getaway
What a beautiful gem of a place. I didn’t have much hope for this week with the weather and I’d taken a punt on the location with 2 boys (5 and 12) but… wow! The lodge has absolutely everything you could need for a stay. Really well set out, comfortable and homey. The location was stunning. We could have spent another week and still not be bored. A different walk with stunning views every day. We had a couple of trips into Balloch (about 40 mins away) did a loch cruise, sea life centre and the Jurassic grill, also stocked up at the co op. Theres a village shop in Balmaha, cafe and pub. Hotel next to the lodge with a restaurant but closed for winter but we stocked up and did our own thing. If you want a stunning lodge by the loch in beautiful surroundings, to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. Absolutely loved it!

Perfect location for walking along the Loch. The cabin was beautiful with all the amenities that you could possibly need. The cabin was lovely and warm and very comfy and very clean.

Beautiful tranquil setting, only the noise of wildlife around us.
Great location, next to entrance of site. Decorated for Christmas outside and in which was lovely. Very comfortable and homely.
Bumped my head a couple of times on the cupboards over the top of double bed, but I soon learned to avoid.

    Cozy family getaway before Christmas
We arrived in the evening and were warmly welcomed by fairy lights and Christmas decorations, beautiful Christmas tree all lit up. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine- all lovely gestures! The lodge was immaculate and in a lovely location by the water.
    Nothing- everything was great!

    A little slice of heaven.
Our stay at Caol Gleann Lodge ,took a rather unexpected turn... Upon and arriving at the lodge,we were thoroughly impressed with the homely/welcoming vibe.A bottle of wine awaited us on our arrival, a very unexpected and very nice touch ! After checking the rooms out, reading the simple yet informative info pack, first order of business was a cup of tea ! I noticed the water pressure wasn't great, but didnt think too much of it ,I figured it may be due to location as it's a further into the wilderness that other places I've stayed. Whilst going for a shower I noticed the water pressure again wasn't great, but on this occasion I wondered if there was something I may have missed in the welcome pack that could have explained this issue. I thought it best to reach out to the host and ask the question. I then noticed communication from the host informing us of a burst water pipe in the area, detailing what had happened, the work being carried out and the giving timescale for the fix. The issue wasnt resolved until later the following evening. In the time that had past from the issue occurring, until it had be resolved I received strong /informative updates ,water was delivered to us and apologies were offered. The burst water pipe was an issue that had affected the whole area, and an issue that was completely outwith the hosts control. All they could do by way of damage limitation for us was keep us posted and still try their best by any means to ensure our stay was as relaxing ,stress free and enjoyable as possible. And it absolutely was ! Showing an exemplary approach to customer service and crisis management, the hosts put our mind at ease whilst offering solutions in a situation outwith their control that if not handled correctly could have resulted in an very unpleasant stay, and it was far from that. Our stay at Caol Glenn Lodge set the benchmark on many levels, some expected, some completely unforseen.
There was only one part of our stay i didnt like, that was the part when we closed the door, put the keys back in the lock box and had to say goodbye as our time was at an end.
