Quite, clean.

When arrived, asked to pay $20 each person for cleaning fee. Told that you can move to someplace else if no pay. Also told, there are hidden cameras in premises. Breakfast, told you serve yourself. we found two loads of breads which expired almost two months. No restaurants and public transportation this aira. Room clean,space larger.

Disappointing, bad experience, no empathy for guests.

I had an extremely unpleasant and deeply frustrating experience with the person in charge, whose name is Vivian. The day before my stay, we spoke, and I clearly informed her that I would be arriving early. She told me to arrive before 8:30 a.m. or after 10 a.m. I arrived at 7 a.m., notified her by message, and repeatedly called her. She finally answered at 9 a.m., and she was clearly asleep. She did not show up until 11:00 a.m. By that point, I no longer felt comfortable staying. Because of this negligence, I lost a fully paid tour to Victoria since I had nowhere safe to leave my luggage. This caused not only financial loss but also emotional distress during what was supposed to be a pleasant trip. On top of that, the place itself looked extremely neglected—filled with cobwebs, loose electrical outlets hanging from the walls, and an excessive amount of dust everywhere. I can only imagine that breakfast is either not served at all or is closer to a late lunch, given the lack of professionalism and care. Overall, this was a very bad experience, and I will be filing an official complaint with PROFECO to request a full refund. I absolutely do not recommend this place, especially if your arrival is early in the morning or late at night, because you will most likely be left outside with no assistance and no one answering the phone—exactly what happened to me.

My stay was plesant, i was able to relax in my room away from the rain.

The breakfast was fine I had cereal and toast. The weather was cold and rainy so it was nice to relax and use the internet. The Host was very friendly and helpful.

Vivian texted me initially and said there will be an extra 20$ Covid cleaning charge. I replied saying Covid is not a thing now. When we checked in, she said it was a deep cleaning fee with alcohol and vinegar!! She went on to say that we are educated people and it was only 10$ each! I REFUSED to pay. And we found used towels hanging behind the door - not so detailed a clean!Guess the next guests will not have clean rooms since I did not pay the extra 20$!? Everyone should REFUSE to pay this. *Breakfast was sooo disappointing - Cheerios, and bread in the fridge. She charges for fruit! Booking.com advertises this place as ‘ very good breakfast’ ?? Absolutely NOT! *shower pressure is disappointing * she was very rude when I was on the phone a few days before our check in as we were flying in and there was a possibility that our flight was going to be delayed and she wanted to charge 30$ for check ins after 11:30 pm or 100$ for after midnight check ins. This is in the Legal section of booking.com. This should be made very clear in the check in times and not in the legal section. She said she could lock the door and not let me in after midnight check ins, she was doing me a favour by charging me 100$, in a very rude tone. As it was our flight was early and we arrived just after 10.

Lovely, Comfortable, and Convenient Stay

The location is very convenient, right next to the airport, and close to all the great restaurants in Richmond. I can hear the planes occasionally, but only when I really pay attention. The noise never bothered me at all. The entire house is beautifully decorated — unique, artistic, and elegant. It’s also very clean. The owner is incredibly kind and thoughtful, providing a variety of fresh fruits and breakfast options for guests. It truly feels like staying in a warm, welcoming home.

A deeply disappointing experience from the moment we arrived. We felt disrespected the instant we stepped into the property. The atmosphere was hostile, cold, and utterly lacking in basic courtesy. But the real shock came when the first thing to greet us was a rat. Yes—a rat. The house was infested with mosquitoes, covered in cobwebs, and clearly neglected in terms of cleanliness and upkeep. To make matters worse, we were charged a $20 “cleaning fee” that was never mentioned during the booking process. We were forced to pay it in cash, with no receipt, no explanation—just an arbitrary demand. This place not only fails to meet the bare minimum of hospitality, it blatantly disrespects its guests. I do not recommend this accommodation under any circumstances. It was unpleasant, dishonest, and profoundly disappointing.

Couldn't get a hold of the host to do the check-in on time

In spite of informing the host of our arrival time for check-in, we waited a full hour without being able to get a hold of the host to be let into our room. Mind you that we were exhausted from flying and wanted to get dinner. Her daughter in law suggested that we leave our suitcases in the living room and go have dinner until Vivian is back, which we did not feel safe to do at all as the door to the living room is not locked. We simply did not feel safe. We ended up leaving the property and booking another place. This was a horrible experience and completely unprofessional. We paid for a service that we were not provided despite clear communication on our part, we requested a refund from Booking.com.

The room was clean.

Breakfast was included but having asked what time it would be served the hostess was non committal and said any time and there was no problem. But there was because no one showed up in the morning at the time I had suggested. It was sort of self help!!! And no one has shown us what was where and how one was supposed to carry out the task of having the breakfast. And a surprise extra $20 was demanded for cleaning. There was clutter everywhere. And there were hundreds of notes posted on the walls of every previous guest saying what a wonderful stay they had had!! The proximity to the airport is the only saving grace of this accommodation.

Better off somewhere else you can stretch your legs

Quiet, very little street noise. We had an en-suite.

Bathroom had no vent, opening the window was not an option when showering due to no privacy so got very steamy. Felt like I was a guest in someone's house with so many rules. Breakfast was basically breads and spreads. Would be fine to stay for one night but would not recommend any more than that. We also had to pay $20 cleaning fee in cash, which is alot on top of what we had already paid.

The worst, most unsafe, distressing experience my child and I ever had in travel accommodation

Room was comfortable but not private or safe

Vivian is abusive, she entered the room with me and my baby when I arrived after my flight was delayed for many hours, she demanded that I put baby down and pay her $50 in cash, $20 for covid sanitation and 30 late fee, she demanded to see my passport saying ‘who are you, I don’t know who you are”. Next morning She asked questions about my racial identity and threatened me because I called Booking.com to complain about hidden fees and bad behaviour. There is no breakfast, the kitchen is not sanitised or clean and full of family members and children. Vivian demanded my brother pay her $50 cash when he came to pick us up. Abusive, racist, unsafe for people of colour and scamming for extra cash

Bad overall experience - after booking you get a message that there’s a (hidden) 20$ cleaning fee. When I mentioned it to her that I did not agree with it she was very rude and unwilling to talk - not the way you want to be treated as a paying guest. Breakfast very poor and overall felt as if we were intruding on the property. Would not recommend.

unwelcoming host, the property is misrepresented as B&B but in fact is an bad AirBnB

The only good things about this property is its location close to the Vancouver International Airport and a nice neighborhood.

The hostess was very unwelcoming, right as we entered the property - she told us in commanding manner to remove our shoes though we were wearing clean city shoes, not to roll our bags to our room but to carry them and that we have to pay her cleaning fee of 20$ in cash though it was not in the description for what we paid for as Bed&Breakfast. When we asked about the breakfast for next morning, she pointed to the counter in her kitchen were there was a jar with a bit of jam on the very bottom, and 2 jars with instant coffee and sugar. There was also an unwashed tea kettle with used tea bags in it. And then she pointed to her family fridge and said that we can use milk, showed a plastic bag with three remaining pieces of bread and 3 small tubs of yogurt. We were taken aback as all these looks like someone’s leftovers in an AirBnB not a B&B. We stayed in many B&B in many countries including Canada and always the hosts either served hot breakfast themselves using nice plates etc. or they provided a separate fridge filled with different food for guests to use themselves. This is why such accommodations are called B&B, breakfast was always something special. But it even got worth afterwards, when we went to our room and were trying to rest after the transpacific flights - the hostess’s small grandchildren who live in the same house were running around, yelling and screaming with no respect for the guests. When we went out for dinner, we were told to take all our valuables with us as the door is not locked and were not given a key. In the morning instead of inviting us to breakfast the hostess again asked about the cleaning fee which we refused to pay and left as it was unbearable to stay in such unwelcoming environment.

I WANT A REFUND

I WANT A REFUND. I want a refund. I did not stay there because I booked a QUEEN bed with a BALCONY . Instead the room was the size of a CLOSET with a SINGLE BED. When I saw the room (? If that is what you call it). I IMMEDIATELY Left and didn’t stay there. Vivian says that the balconies are for smokers

Quality stay in very nice home

The owner was very nice and accommodating, very careful about hygiene and cleanliness. My room was very big and the bed very comfy, I was a bit jetlagged so I could hear the sounds from the garden but I think on a normal night I would have slept very peacefully.

I did not know how far Richmond was from Vancouver so I ended up with extra expenses along with the price for the night itself, I would not exactly say it is student-budget-friendly, but I insist on the quality of my stay there, and I think it is a good price for people who need their comfort during a trip.
