Excellent in every way

The Chateau was beautiful inside and out. The chateau is traditional with modern bathrooms. The breakfast is excellent and there is ample parking for everyone. The hosts are helpful and charming.

Everything was perfect just some wine glass in the room would be nice. But we could have asked and did not so our fault.

Beautiful chateau stay

Beautiful, newly restored chateau. Breakfast in the formal dining room downstairs was lovely. The hosts were very welcoming and took the time to explain to us the history of the Chateau. The bathroom was modern and comfortable. Only a 5 to 10 minute drive from the village. The sound of the sheep in the evening was great.

Exceptional accommodations in a beautiful chateau with gracious hosts.

The hosts, Sophie & Hubert, were most gracious. They met us at the door upon arrival, answered our many questions, offered suggestions for dining and touring. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was very spacious, and the serenity of the area was delightful. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Fabulous stay in a country château

Fabulous clean inviting accommodations. dream-like calm country setting. Owners warm and welcoming, the property in the family for several generations. Proud of their home and want to preserve it for future generations. We felt we were a part of their story for 24 hours. wonderful memories.

Amazing place, lovely room, incredible breakfast and very friendly

Hosts were friendly and helpful and most welcoming. They suggested great places to eat out and places to visit. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. We will definitely be back !! Thank you

We had a problem with mosquitoes, our fault for leaving the window open at night. Hosts were apologetic for not warning us and gave us a spray to use in the room, it was OK after that.

perfect place for our brief stay at the beginning of a long holiday

Interesting to learn of the history of the chateau, which was in a quiet but easily accessible place. Lot of interesting places to visit nearby. We had a very comfortable room and an excellent breakfast.

It was a great experience to spend the night in castle.

The breakfast was excellent. The owners provided a lot of details about the history of the castle and are working very hard to maintain this historical property. The host helped us to carry our luggage to our room on the second floor.

Superb location, wonderful hosts.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Chateau du Gerfaut. Our hosts were charming and friendly and shared the history and background to the Chateau with us, which was really interesting. The surroundings were delightful and it was peaceful and quiet as it is located outside the town of Azay-le-Rideau. It would have been wonderful to be able to dine at the Chateau in the evening but we received some good local recommendations. Breakfast was superb. We are more than happy to recommend this location to other travellers and intend to stay there again ourselves.

There was nothing that we did not like but, as above, it would have been even better if there was a restaurant on-site.

Very pleasnt, relaxed,

Old fashioned, simple, quality. No gimmics.

No real grouses. We didn’t miss having French-only TV. We didn’t miss noisy air-conditioning, even in a record heat-wave. The room was cool. We didn’t miss not having somewhere to charge our tec gadgets; we briught our own plugs and cables. There werw plenty of easily accessible plugs to use.

An amazing Chateau with wonderful hosts

I was met by the owner Aubier who was extremely helpful carrying my case and booking a local restaurant for my evening meal. The room was delightful with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with a separate toilet. Breakfast the following morning was plentiful with apple juice, coffee, yogurt and fruit, croissants and home made jam. served by Sophie and Jacque, who speak excellent English and tell of the history of the Château.
