Outside looks wonderful, oldie world half timbered with lots of character and atmosphere. Inside totally different not oldie world, no character, no atmosphere seems like an empty smelly community centre. There is no restaurant in the normal sense. No laid out tables, no glasses, no cutlery, no napkins, just an odd few tables and chairs in an empty space with no atmosphere. The pictures i had seems before was oldie world with character but not now. No alcohol, no real choice of drinks, an odd menu, chef needed to go to the shops before cooking anything to eat! No staff really only one at computer / mobile and the cook. Couldn't exit half the doors all locked, security locks everywhere which doesn't instill a safe place. No lift only long stairs wouldn't like to be on the second floor! The room wasn't too bad, very basic, a bit cramped with minimal space in bathroom. Shower difficult to access. For the price I expected far more, expectation was high but very disappointing.

I would recommend the George and dragon to anyone looking for a good priced basic hotel with free parking . We arrived early and parked up and they were fine with us leaving the car there a few hours after check out. The town ctr is only 5 minutes walk away. The room was spacious clean and warm . Bathroom nice. There was a fan and if you get too hot just turn the radiator off . Downstairs there’s a pool table and you can buy snacks . Didn’t have the breakfast . Found the staff friendly and helpful . Would book here again next time in Chester .

This is probably the worst place I've ever stayed in - and I've stayed in many, including hostels. The hotel looks very nice from outside, but inside everything needs repair and refurbishing. My room including sheets wasn't very clean, and what is more: during my stay the room was cleaned just once, not including the bathroom! No supplies (tea, milk...) added, the bin is full of garbage. When I moved the bed (I lost my earring), I found a french fry there, and I didn't have any! The hot water was hardly warm, and the heating didn't work during the last night of my stay. I never saw any of the staff except when checking-in. The dining area was empty in the evenings, no person at the bar as well. I didn't try any food there due to the previous reviews, but if the cafe is empty in the evening this usually means that the food isn't great. There also was no sign 'do not disturb' in my room, but as they almost never clean your room it's not the biggest problem. Honestly, I'm extremely dissapointed.
