    We have stayed here often and really rate this place. Dog friendly. Can get a little loud and hectic in the restaurant due to large conferences. The food is always great! They could consider upgrading the quality of their toilet paper.

    The hotel is beautiful, and the meeting rooms are set out really well. The bedrooms are good, but considering the price of this hotel, I would expect better. The walls are really quite thin, and whilst I know it is a hotel and you expect some noise, I would not expect to be able to hear people going to the bathroom in the room next door, which I could. It also sounded like people were trying to get into my room, when they were a room further down, due to the volume of the doors. I had a large bed, as I requested, but the pillows were awful, so if you can, take your own pillow. I found that the main part of the room was well lit, but by the wall, which was where my table was, the lighting was awful. Even with the bedside light and the tall lamp moved, it wasn't ideal. I did find that some of the cleaning in the rooms wasn't great. There was some hairs on the shower cubical, and you could see that the taps/ waste pipe on the bath had never been cleaned. Also, in several places (bedrooms and meeting rooms) the carpets were frayed in the corners. Considering the cost of this hotel, it was not what I expected. The food was reasonably priced, but the drinks were very expensive. A pint of diet coke was £4.30, and an orange juice and lemonade was £5.50. To have room service delivered to your room was £5, but when they got my order wrong, they did sort it quite quickly. However, when I tried to order room service a few days later, nobody answered the phone over a space of an hour, so I just gave up and didn't eat that night. It was convenient for the course that I was doing, but I think if I had another course there, I would probably look to stay somewhere else.

    Very firm mattresses which affected sleep badly. This after having two extra toppers provided.
