Our hostess was absolutely charming. She was so helpful and kind. Location was great as it was close to the train station and town where you could get meals or supplies.

It wasn’t that it was something we didn’t like as it was mentioned in the information so we were aware when we made the booking. Just make sure you know if you are on the third floor there are several stairs with your luggage. In Ainsley defense she offered to help. You might also need a small personal fan if you sleep hot.

My partner and I stayed for four nights in a room with breakfast included. We had a lovely stay – it felt just like home. This was largely thanks to the warm atmosphere created by the owner’s aunt, who was looking after the guests while the owner was away for a few days. She was an exceptionally friendly, communicative lady who went out of her way to accommodate us in every possible respect, whether that meant providing information, chatting, telling stories or preparing an early breakfast. I think this personal touch is the greatest strength of this B&B. Our third-floor room was spacious and clean, though the bed was perhaps a little too soft. The house is old and it combines this with a modern style, blending old and new. Having tea and coffee-making facilities in the room is always welcome. The accommodation itself is very close to the centre, but steep, long flights of stairs separate it from the centre – bear this in mind if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage. It is also possible to go around the other way, but this makes the journey considerably longer. The neighbourhood is peaceful and quiet, perfect for sleeping. The continental breakfast was a good start to the day for exploring Inverness and the surrounding area.

You share a pleasant, comfortable bathroom with one other room, which can be inconvenient at peak times (morning and evening) and reduces the sense of comfort. This was the only thing that frustrated us slightly, but not enough to spoil our stay. However, it did leave us with the impression that the accommodation was slightly overpriced.
