Best B&B ever!

This is probably the best B&B I've ever been to. The room was cozy with a nice view, the village is beautiful and close to the B&B (yet it's still very quiet at night), the hosts are most welcoming and helpful, the breakfast is phantastic. We could select what we wanted the day before and the selection is awesome. Fruit and cooked breakfast freshly prepared. There are beautiful hikes so close that you do not have to get in the car. The village is lovely with everything you need.

The hotel was an absolute guesthouse gem in Lynton, Devon and the hotel and town are a slice of heaven tucked away in the heart of Devon. The hosts were absolute legends. Warm, welcoming, and so genuinely kind—these folks know how to make you feel at home. It’s clear they take great pride in their beautiful guest house, and every little detail reflects this. From the cozy, absolutely spotless rooms to the charming decor, it’s obvious this is a place that’s been crafted and maintained with love, detail and absolute care. As for the facilities, everything was top-notch. The comfortable beds that felt like a cloud or the perfectly-equipped bathroom (hello, fluffy towels and great power shower pressure!), we had everything we needed for a really relaxing stay. Breakfast also amazingly good. Everywhere so spotlessly clean too. Lynton itself is just magical. The town’s charm is something straight out of a storybook. Nestled on the edge of National Park, the dramatic cliffs and lush green hills left us speechless. A real breath of fresh air for the soul and adventure. Loads of great places to eat and drink, also recommend the Victorian rail cable car to explore Lynmouth at the bottom. And the traditional cinema and town hall craft fayre and all the amazing shops. All in all, our experience here was nothing short of fantastic. If you're looking for a place that offers comfort, kindness, and a true taste of Devon’s magic, this is it. We’ll definitely be back. “Fabulous Stay with Wonderful Hosts in Beautiful Lynton”

South View Guest House – Lynton We had a wonderful stay at South View Guest House. The location is lovely, with beautiful surroundings and easy access to all that Lynton has to offer. Penny and Drew were fantastic hosts, giving great guidance about the local area and helping us make the most of our visit. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made it a pleasure to stay here. A fabulous place to stay when visiting Lynton – highly recommended!

A perfect find

We stayed for one night only but it was perfect accommodation for our stop over on the SWCP from Lynton. Very friendly hosts who pay attention to lots of detail from room decor to breakfast which was very generous and perfect!

Excellent location, best guest house I’ve stayed in.

The guest house was spotlessly clean and ran by a lovely couple. Lots of choice for breakfast and cooked to perfection, piping hot and not at all greasy. We will be returning next summer.

Lovely B&B right in the heart of Lynton

Drew and Penny are wonderful and very friendly hosts. They made my stay very comfortable and provided me with everything I needed after a long day of walking. First class food and drink recommendations for the village, very nice and clean room with comfy bed and hot shower, complimentary tea/coffee/chocolate. Breakfast in the lovely dining room was just great! Fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, muesli, eggs, etc. And of course plenty of tea (or coffee) to suit your taste. Thank you for having me! It was a much appreciated pleasure to stay with you. Will stay again when I am in the area.

The room we were given was so very small that you could barely walk around the bed and the walls. They seemed to take a very small room, put a bed in it and say that was a valid room for a stay. Absolutely no room for 2 pieces of luggage. A bed with walls around it… disappointing.

Lovely stay! The owners were very friendly and helpful. Our room was excellent - warm, clean and great view. Southview has a great location within 100 metres of Lynton. The breakfasts were the best we have ever had. We would definitely stay again.

Comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast but no secure bike storage.

Location on cycle route. Comfortable room with large en-suite that included a bath (a bonus). Excellent breakfast - indeed the best we had on this holiday.

No means of securing our expensive bikes or charging the integral battery on my bike. The wall hooks mentioned when we booked were too small to accommodate our insurance mandated locks. I suggest one of the following options: 1. Change hotel policy and allow clean bikes into the hotel - all other hotels we have used over the last six years touring allow this when they do not have a garage, bike shed or other secure accommodation. 2. Install an insurance certified bike anchor point and an external power point for charging 3. State clearly in the hotel details that they cannot accommodate bikes overnight.
